Right before the old board was zapped, there was a topic about increased spirit activity during the Holidays. I just wanted to add a little story that happened to me last Monday. My husband was sick all weekend. So Sunday night I decided not to set the alarm clock to get me up for work on Monday. I figured the dogs always wake me around 5 or 5:30 in the morning to go out anyway. We have a bathroom attached to our bedroom and I always close it because we have night light in there and its very bright. The next morning I was almost awake when I heard the doorknob turn and the bathroom door swing open. Both dogs were sound asleep snoring, the cat on the bed completely gone and hubby asleep as well. It was exactly 5:30 a.m. Now I know I closed that door! And this door has a habit of always being open when I know I closed it. But sometime you think, maybe I didn't close it tight enough and the dogs or wind current pushed it open. Well now I know better!

Funny thing is that it didn't bother me in the least! I said to myself, hey it's 5:30 and the bathroom door just opened. Cool! I knew I wasn't losing my mind and had in fact closed the door many times in the past and it opened on it's own. I was so glad it finally happened when I was in the room. I wasn't spooked at all. Just got up and took my shower. Normally I would have peed in the bed. LOL

I know what you mean there. One morning about 6am I was all alone downwtairs in an inn built in 1790- a very active place with ghosts. I was just starting breakfast when someone stated really pounding the deskbell. I walked out- maybe about 15 feet as the bell was still ringing and there was no one there. I just said "good morning" and went back to work.It made me giggle. now- the chef would have peed herself. After that I just came in and said good morning every day. the soldiers ghost seemed to be satisfied.

I thought it was neat to work somewhere where it was so very interactive. Stuff all the time went on!

I think sometimes all they want is a little acknowledgement. Hey, Don't we all? =)

Pandora, I really believe that you have a "friend" there in your house. Doors don't open by themselves, especially if the knob must be turned to unlatch it. If it isn't latched, there would have to at least be a breeze... and in most places in our homes, there is nothing to cause a breeze strong enough to open a door by more than a very little bit.
Sundog, I know that you have worked in some very spiritually active places, plus, I think that the spirits must feel comfortable around you. It is just a feeling I have.
I do think that the spirits are more active when there is a "change of pace" in the normal routine, too... much like our increased activity around the holidays, and a change in the emotional environment, as well.
BTW, what is the real story behind the "Ghost of Christmas Past"?? Does anyone know? Is this connected to something that was experienced by many people over a long span of time? I have wondered about that entity for years. We think that Kell may have experienced it once, but I will let her do the telling. It was a frightening thing for her, as she was still a child.

I have never had a bad feeling about our spirit friend. The dogs don't act like anything unusual is happening. I think something is looking after us here.

Posticons weeeee! Sorry. What I've noticed in my extremely limited experience is that if you have something to worry about you'll probably feel a sense of dread, anxiety; and if it's all groovy you'll notice you weren't anxious or scared at all. Where I grew up I would feel anxious and scared in certain parts of the house for "no" reason, but recently I've been tapped on the shoulder in the morning more than once and I feel grateful.

Earlier today a streak flew up the chimney, may have been an orb. Then when I was on the computer a little while ago I felt a cold dog nose on my hand. My right hand was on the mouse and my left was hanging by my side. I looked around and my little dog was in the kitchen begging peanut butter from hubby and the other one was asleep in her bed! Could be one of my Chihuahuas come to visit again.
