I saw this one at the movies. I love Helen Hunt, Kevin Spacey and Halley Joel Osmet(sp?) so it was a must see. I thought it was a great movie. It was all I could do to not start crying my eyes out by the end of the movie. It was a bit predictable but great none the less.

I watched this a couple of weeks back and loved it. Hubby had seen it before and just kept popping in to see where I was in the movie and each time he'd say "you're not going to like the ending". ggrrrr! ='(

I loved this movie. And hubby did too. I was a mess at the end, but it was predictable. If it ended any other way though it wouldn't be as real.

yeh it was predictable and really couldnt have ended any other way but it was such a good message. many times in my life folks have helped me and there was no way to pay them back except to pay it forward. been doing it for years all alone out here in the dark of life. when i have heard the words "how can i ever pay you back" I always say "help someone else along the way" and i bet they do.
In a way it was truly a corny film but those actors made it work. that scene where Kevin spacey says he doesnt want to be one of those people and they kiss and fall onto the lockers- well- it made me forget the guy is gay!

the end had me in tears.it was sorta like in field of dreams at the end- he built it and they came.......

A new agey moral tale- but a good one to keep in our hearts.

I loved this movie, and I was tearful at various points, but especially at the end. This is something that all of the kids in the world need to see! It should be a slogan that young people never forget.
I have used this principle all of my life, and I must say, it has served me well. I have yet to fail to get back many more wonderful things in return for the sometimes small things I have done to help others. Good begets good. Love begets love. I never expect anyone to pay me back for a favor, and I have always given freely of anything I have.
It was a great movie... one I would like to own!

I sort of liked the show. It was predictable!
Damn it! I didn't know Spacey was gay! Oh well? I like his acting ability!
Society as a whole, has preconditioned us to pull away from each other. In fear that if we approach each other we may be endangering our own safety. In some cases this is true. Figuring out which situations that is not true in, and then giving assistance to others; will present a case for a great change in our Society!
I have been offering assistance more often since I saw the movie. So far not any big stuff, but even the little things, take people by surprise. I think it instills in them, a desire to help others.
I'm not a Parent so perhaps I have no right to express this point of view. But instead of expelling/or suspending kids from school for non-violent behavior.
Maybe they should encorporate a "Pay It Forward" Theme; so the student can stay in school, but has to repay that by offering assistance to other students in need, in their school system.

hey DD- actually they say he swings both ways- hey the way to look at that is twice the chance of a date on saturday night!

Kidding aside-
My sister now shows Pay it Forward at the kids jail- called the oreanna (sp) house in Akron,Ohio. she is a regular school teacher but wanted to do this instead. she's quite a woman! this is safer than public school because it is a jail- where the little criminal cretins have no weapons! (unless really bendy plastic spoons counts) she has some really good stories too.

She feels this movie may be a help for these boys.
(they are really really bad bad kids here)She had finally seen it and the next day one of the social workers brought a copy in to her and sadi you should see this!! NOw they show it.
