I just read Kell's post about the weird dreams about folks no longer with us, and thought I might share this. A couple of months ago, just before my younger sister and nephew saw the ghost at my house (posted in the Ghost section),I had a weird dream that I think may have been connected. I was sitting at the kitchen table, painting, which I often do, and looked into my dining room. There was a woman, about 35, in a 1940's era dress and hairstyle, pacing nervously back and forth. In the dream, I looked at her and said, "Hey you aren't supposed to be here. You are a ghost, aren't you?" She confirmed that yes, indeed she was, and this was her house. I told her it was my house now, and that she should go on. She also confirmed that she was the one who slammed the door, hid things, etc...and informed me that she wasn't going anywhere, she couldn't. Now, my "visitor" was not impolite or unfriendly, in fact, she seemed to almost welcome someone being able to communicate with her. At that time, I told her to hold on until my husband got home, and maybe he could help. James walked through the door, like he always does when he gets home from work, and at that point I woke up.
The other dream was one that James, my husband, had just a few days ago. He dreamed that he and I were sleeping, and he woke up when he heard a commotion in the dining room. A group of people, whom he did not recognize, were having a party. He noticed a chubby little girl, about 13 years old, with short blonde hair who faded in and out. Realizing she was a ghost, he grabbed her, and the girl could not de-materialize. Quite upset by this, the poor kid began screaming and crying. James said he was amazed, and held on to her, dragging this hysterical little teenage ghost to the people in the party and asking, "Do you see this girl?" Each of the party goers shook their heads no, and looked at him like he had just flipped his lid. He then drags the child into the bedroom, I'm awake because of the commotion. He asks me, "Do you see this girl, this little blonde girl I am holding onto?" I look and him and reply "Duh! Of course I see her, let the poor little thing go!" At which point he wakes up. I'm not sure these dreams are connected to our ghosts, but they were kinda interesting! I asked him what type of clothes the girl had on, and he said they were fairly modern -- jeans, a t-shirt, and jacket. He didn't recognize her, and she didn't sound like anyone I could think of. Weird, huh!

Ja, weird! I don't feel the two were connected - at least not obviously. I think perhaps the one you had of the lady, maybe that your old lady ghost in her younger years. Did you ever figure out (or ask?) what it was that she was so nervous about? The fact that she couldn't cross over, or had something happened in that time period that had her on edge? Hmm.

James' dream sounds almost like an out-of-body experience. Did he ever mention that it seemed so real or anything to that effect? Just asking because you mentioned that she was fading in and out & then wasn't able to dematerialize, it reminded me of my own OBE (last year) when I kept trying to get my hands to materialize but they'd only fade in and out as I moved them. Maybe this teen was having an OBE/nightmare that she was at a party and some man grabbed her, etc.! =O =P

Hey Kell! I do think the dream I had might have been connected to our ghost lady. I've got an elderly neighbor I need to question some more! I think I was so thrilled in the dream to be talking to a ghost that I didn't think to ask her why she was hanging around.
Interesting theory about the OBE! James' dreams always are very vivid, which is funny, because he is not the type to be unusually imaginative. At night, he really churns out some doozies!

Carrie I often see people that have passed in my dreams. I recently dreamed about about this guy that lives near us. He used to have a house that was on the corner next to mine. It burned down a long time before we moved here, but he still lived in the neighborhood. He is called the whistler cause he use to whistle all the time. I think he may have alsheimers or Picks disease like my dad because he stopped whistling about 2 years ago and now he screams when he walks. He is not dangerous or anything and used to come in my shop and was very nice to me. Last I saw him back a few months ago he was using two canes to walk and looked pretty bad. I haven't seen him or heard him in awhile which is odd for him cause he walks all the time. I dreamt about him about a week ago. I have a feeling he is gone and came to say goodbye to me. I have also been having one nightmare after another about horrid things happening. First a big bearded homeless man was standing in this house that I was at. He came in to steal and was very dangerous. I also dreamt about terrible riots on the streets with police and people killing each other. I also dreamt about a factory blowing up that had some chemicals that were harmful. Then the worst one was this cult that was harvesting body parts by killing young woman. Yuck...
all this in a couple of days. It bothers me cause sometimes my dreams come true. Is this a warning of forboding that something terrible is about to happen to all of us as a nation, or country? I hope not. I hate to sleep lately.
