I was surprised when I was reading my latest copy of the Appalachian Trial clubs magazine (it's a publication the club sends to it's members) and on the last page was a ghost pic. There is a somewhat famous cabin on the AT that is reported to be haunted. One group while passing the cabin decided to take pictures and in one picture an ectoplasm showed up.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a ghost picture in a nationally distributed and privately published magazine. It was a good picture too.
It kind of shows that the subject of ghosts and ghost photography could almost be considered mainstream by now. Very cool.

HOORAY for AT magazine!! I think it is high time that professional journalists start having a serious look at the "strange anomalies" in their photos. We ghost hunters and students of the "other planes" of existance have known for a very long time that these things are real, and not a 'figment of the imagination'. These pictures aren't always the product of a faulty roll of film, or an idiosyncrasy of the camera being used. This is really cool, Nakis! Thanks for mentioning it here.

I've often wanted to be a fly on the darkroom wall watching professional photographers from major magazines develop pictures with orbs and mist. I wonder how many they come up with and how they explain them away or if they secretly submit them to paranormal websites under fictious names. =O!

Good point Connie. I never thought of that. Pro's take thousands upon thousands of pictures in their life. I wonder if they get strange anomolies on film.
I can imagine that a pro would not want to bring forth any ghost pictures they find for fear of losing business or losing respect amoung their conservative peers.
How many good ghost picts are being dumped in the waste can because they are not wanted by the owner.

That's cool, Nakis. Wish we could see it! We heard on the news the other day that while doing a photo shoot down in Tombstone, Az. (in the Birdcage Theatre), they (photography staff from True West Magazine) caught a ghost on film and are going to publish it in next month's magazine! They showed the pic on TV and you can definitely see this face...

I'm going to look on the web to see if I can find out more about it.

I just wonder how many sections of movie film have had pictures of ghost.I can only remember one time that Hollywood ever revieled that they had caught a ghost on film.Three Men and a Baby:I don;t know if any of you saw the pic but it was a little boy behind the curtain. We may be seing ghost in movies and don't know it.They knew that the little boy didn't belong in the shot but what about crowd scenes.I wonder!Have you ever watched a movie and saw a person and then they were gone?Insert scary music lol Bonnie

Hi Bonnie, I think the Three Men & A Baby 'ghost' ended up being a cardboard cutout of one of the stars. =P It's had a lot of people worked up!

Bonnie, I have to say, I agree with you about all of the possibilities of ghosts and other paranormal entities being recorded by movie crews, and they aren't filming anything that has to do with ghosts. They probably regard them as a nuisance, but never say anything about them, for fear that they will be ridiculed. I'll bet there are loads of ghost pictures on film that wind up on the cutting room floor (edited out), and they have probably done lots of retakes because of things like vortices, orbs, shadow ghosts, etc.. Just my thoughts....

That would be an interesting job, being on the editing crew, if you were interested in the paranormal - they get to see the uncut films. The general public usually can't pick out a ghost that might show up because of all the editing - a person that seems to disapere could be just because the film was cut at that point causing the blooper.

No worries about the double post, Bonnie - all taken care of. ;-)

Oh, I know the floor of the cutting room would be a goldmine! Thats a good point Connie, sometimes what we see on film is a product of bad editing.
