At the house my family lived in while I was in college, we had all kinds of things happen. I never had trouble with things being moved around, but mom swore she was sitting in the den sewing one day, and a small key she could not identify floated toward her from the bar in the kitchen. We never could identify what the little key went to.
In my current house, I sometimes have things that mysteriously go missing, or are found in an odd place. Before we were married, James had given me a little Claddagh pendant. I'm always careful when I take any jewelry off to either put it in one of my boxes, or on the small table beside my bed. A few months ago, I found the pendant on a high shelf in the laundry room. I'm almost positive that I didn't put it there, James didn't, and my nephew isn't tall enough to reach. Right now, the pendant is missing again, I found the chain right where I had left it on the table, with the clasp fastened. I've torn everything apart looking for it, but with no luck! That is the only piece of jewelry I've ever lost, and I hope it goes well with my lady ghosts outfit!

The house we use to live in was real bad for things moving.I was sitting watching TV and I saw something moving in the dinning room I had a bottle sitting on top of a chect of drows and it was rocking back and forth.I stopped it and then I did everything to get it to do it again and it wouldn't budge.Another time my bill kept flying off the top of the stereo.I'd put them up there and in a few minutes they would be in the middle of the living room floor. The only thing that we have seen move where we live now was the TV controler. It moved from the table beside Frank to the middle of the living room.Doors slam and things dissapear and there are the voices. I have often wondered how spirits move things. For example, a haunted bar where the owner goes into the next room for a few seconds and comes back into the main room to find all the chairs stacked on top of the tables. No sound and almost instant. How does that happen? If you had a camera would you see them float up there, or do the just materialize that way? And other times they do catch something on film like the one where a house under remodeling kept having things undone during the night. They put up a motion camera and you saw a chair scoot across the room and sheet rock fly off the wall. It's all very interesting. Sometimes you hear terrible noise in the next room like the room is being torn apart and when you go in there, everything is in place.

Pandora, that reminds me, I lived in a town about 30 miles from where I am now. It is a nice old town, but the downtown area is just pathetic -- they have lots of potential for tourism, but the "powers that be" don't want anything new in the area. Anyway, a few years ago, a woman tried to put in an ice cream parlor in one of the old buildings. After a few weeks, they started having a lot of weird things happen. One girl who worked there said when closing at night, they would often hear loud noises upstairs. She came in one day and found all of the chairs, heavy wooden ones, stacked in a pyramid. The woman who owned it supposedly got so discouraged she sold the business. A small restraunt is there now, but I don't know if they have had similar experiences.
Also, the house I lived in, about 3 blocks away, also had its share of things like you described, I had forgotten. Most of it would happen around the holidays. I remember one night mom and I were watching tv and talking late one night when I swore the china cabinet in the next room toppled over. I ran to investigate, and nothing was out of place. Another night, we heard another crash, this one in the living room. Two small figurines were on the floor, intact, several feet from where they should have fallen. Plus, they would not have made the commotion that we heard.
I loved that old house. James keeps driving by waiting for it to go back up for sale. Maybe someday! I would probably give it a good smudging though!

Hmm. In my current residence. Nothing that I can remember. Which is good. In many past places lots of things would go missing. In one place the mailbox key kept dissappearing and turning up in all kinds of strange places. Until one day it never appeared again. I had to get a new one made. I can't tell you how many times my keys have gone missing. Put them down and minutes later they are somewhere else.
One of the best cases I experienced was at one of my brothers place. I was visiting there for a few days while my brother was away. I put a container of underarm deordant on his dresser. Took a shower and went to use it and it was gone. I ran my hand over the top of the bureau to make sure that I wasn't just not seeing it. I went to the store to get some other things and a new deorderant. I can back and it was right back where I put it. That place had a mean and nasty ghostie.

This is funny but true....during the day when I am home alone, I have gone into the downstairs bathroom on several different occasions and the toilet seat will be up or sometimes the lid will be down. I am sure not doing this!! Suppose my ghostie must be a male =O!

Things at my house seem to always happen late at night and when we wake up, we discover them. One morning we found my sons super soaker water gun laying in the bathroom sink (it had been in the garage since it is winter here.) We also came home recently to find a small pile of sand on my kitchen rug. We never have figured that one out.

I'd forgetten about that sand, Cindy! You sent some of it to Jim at GhostStudy, didn't you? I'm curious what he'll have to say about it. =)

I think there may have been more things moved around here than we ever realized. Several years ago, I had a tennis bracelet that suddenly turned up missing. We thought perhaps the cat took off with it ("it's shiny and I want it!") and hid it in the back room, which wasn't easy to go through to check. We just recently cleaned the room out, but found no bracelet! Ah well, I've had it replaced for a long time now. ;-)

One thing I'm sure was moved by ghosts was a straw hat I have sitting atop my headboard, on top of a USCGA cap. This hat has a black taffeta ribbon & bow for a hatband and I always knew what direction it was facing. One day I walk in and it was turned about 45º. I was shocked! I showed az, but left it alone. A couple days later, I noticed it was turned back to it's original position. :nerd: Now, I'm forever looking up at it to see if it's been moved again!

Pandora, I wonder about that same thing!

Cindy, that is weird about the sand! I'd like to know what Jim has to say, too.
Kell, I think we are being haunted by spirits who envy our accessories! They just need to keep their ectoplasmic little paws off the jewelry! ;-)

Yes I sure did send the sand to Jim and he should have it by now, but I know he does not always get to check his mail everyday and he is extremely busy, plus he has this months pics to get ready for posting, so I want to give him some time before I start bugging him =) I will be sure to let you all know what he says!
