Hi all,
Have any of you ever heard that dreaming of the death of a child means that a child will be born?
The reason I'm asking is because Xmas 98, I was 7 mths pregnant for my 2nd daughter, Emily-Rose and I told my sister that she shouldn't be drinking because she was pregnant. She looked at me with a dropped jaw and told me I must not be right in the head because she wasn't pregnant. Turns out, she found out a few months later that she was pregnant (4 mths along). She conceived around the time I told her this and before she found out, I kept having the worst nightmares of my oldest daughter dying... ='(
This year, same thing, same nightmares, same scenario when we went for Xmas supper at our parent's house... She found out she was pregnant a month and 1/2 later! She thinks I'm totally out there and she wonders how the heck I could've known before she even felt anything! =O
I've had a lot of experiences with spirits and the like, even forseen a few things but the meaning of the nightmares is what I'm curious about... What have you heard? If anything!

I have not heard of that specifically, but that doesn't mean others haven't! I will run it by a professional psychic friend of mine to she what she says.

I will say this - you're definitely in tune on some level to be able to know when someone else is pregnant! ;-)

Hi Nancy,

I don't know very much about the psychic value of your dreams, but I have had very similar ones. When I have had dreams like that, horrible things happening to people that I love, I used to wake up very ashamed. How could I dream these things about my family. After working to interpret these dreams I realized that the horrific images had nothing to do with the focus of the dream, it was a small thing in the background somewhere that was the actual focus and it usually is very important. It's like there was something that needed paying attention to that I was ignoring so my mind brought up these terrible things to get my attention. In my dreams the dreadful images had no signifigance beyond making me pay attention. I should also point out that in the dreams I was never afraid of the images only confused and ashamed when I woke up, so I never called them true nightmares. I hope this helps a little. It's obvious that you family is very much loved and I think that that your sisters pregnancies may have been pointed out to you in such a way simply so that you would remember it. You seem to have arrived at the corrct interpretation since both time your sister was indeed pregnant. If the dreams still bother you maybe you should see a professional that has experiance in dream analysis. You'll know what interpretation is correct when you hear it.

Ok, I'm not talking to you anymore Nancy! I am still not sure if I am expecting or not. Let's hope not. But 4 months! How do you not know? You definately have some connection there.

Hi Nancy,

Here is my friends response to your questions:

I read her questions, and I can't say I know anything for sure. It seems to me this dream is just "her own way" of picking up the information about her sister. There could be many reasons it comes through this way for her, death in the dream meaning birth in her family, so I couldn't tell ya why. It's interesting though. Maybe it's a sister thing, like the "death" or end of little sister...birth or beginning of the sister becoming a mom or an adult? I don't know? Something must end ( drinking?) for something to begin (healing or birth?) Sorry that's not much help! =P

My mother used to say, if you dream of death, it means a birth and vice versa. Old Vietnamese superstition I guess.

The confusing part to me about dreaming of death being the symbol of a beginning is because I've dreamt of death before only not in the same way...
Whenever someone close to me has passed on, I dream of walking down a white marble hallway, opening a door and seeing beautiful white marble headstones... I can read the names of all the people that have been close to me and passed on but then I get to the end and cannot see the name on the last one. I have this dream for about 1 to 2 weeks and then someone passes. Only other detail to this dream is that there is a beautiful royal blue curtain flapping in the wind as a window is open (yes, this is an indoor graveyard but it's a dream)... It's such a peaceful dream, I'm always in such a comforted state once I awake from it, no strange feeling other than EXTREME calmness... I don't think I've ever been that calm in a waking state...
I've even seen my grand-father in a dream (never met the man he died a month before I was born), and he was pushing my grand-mother in a wheelchair and at the time, I was about 8 yrs old. My grand-mother had her leg amputated a month after I had this dream, I shoked the living day lights out of my mother! =O!
My grandma has since passed on but no more dreams about her now a days. So many things in dreams can symbolize life or death, it's complicated stuff for me to figure out?! ?_?

Nancy,

I think there is a fine line between your dreams of death. When you dream about your daughter dying, there is a birth of a baby. So, death=birth, in this one.

When you dream of the mable place, the result is a death, with no births involved. See what I mean?

As for the one where your grandfather was wheeling your grandmother in the wheelchair, I believe you had a specific premonition, although it came through in a round about way. It became a lot clearer to you when your grandmother actually lost her leg, ya know? You were only 8 y/o, so I think it would have been tough for you to put 2x2 together. Grandma had diabetes, yes? Is that why she lost her leg?

Yes indeed Kell, she was diabetic...
I guess the thing is that it's difficult with some dreams to get the message. I've bought 3 different books for dream symbolism and all 3 say different things so it gets confusing.

I was going to more or less say the same thing that Kelly's psychic friend said.
We each get these things in ways that work to our own minds. How dreaming of your eldest daughter's death equates to people you know being pregnant only you may be able to find out with deep instrospection. Was that daughter a difficult birth. Did you or her come close to death during her birth? Did you almost loose her during your pregnancy. It might be that your mind/soul is picking up on someone's pregnacny and is presenting it to you in a way that allows very little alternate interpretation. Unfortunately it also is an emotional way to present it to you so you are missing it?

I have had several dreams of one of my brothers dying very horribly (he hasn't gotten pregnant yet?!?). I know it is tied to how he has and how he treats himself now. He is wearing out his body prematurely. But he won't listen to me. He has slowed down some but he is still on the same track.
So seeing the death of a loved would seem to have different meanings to different people.

Nakis, actually you asked the question to make me go "Ahhh! That could be it" because I did come close to losing my daughter. She was an extremally easy delivery (ambulance garage, QuiCK) but the first trimester and about 1/2 of the second. I'm going to keep the brain wheels going to try to seek out these feelings and "impressions".
