After reading your posts to Nancy about past lives it reminded me of this deja vu feeling I get quite often. It is such a strange and eerie feeling, as if I have done this same thing before. Everything seems to almost slow down for a few seconds and I will know what is going to happen next. It does not last too long and it seems most everybody I talk to has experienced this, but I have always wondered what it means.

Do any of you experience this and have you read anything on the subject?

By the way Nancy, I love your picture. You are so pretty and your picture says a thousand words about what a loving mom you are!

To me Deja-vous comes from precognition. Often my deja-vous come to me like yours. I'll be in a situation where I know what is happening while and before it is happening. More than 90% of the time I'll remember that it was from a vision or dream that I have experienced in the past. I'll remember the time I had the vision or dream and remember the impression I got about it and wonder if this will happen in the future. I'll go through all this as the deja-vous is unfolding and consider whether there is any action I need to take in the situation.
In some instances I will change how I saw the situation was to unfold. Most of the time I just marvel and get mystified at why I saw it before or just mildly irritated that since I got to see the preview WHY the heck did I see the preview. Quite often they seem mundane. But if you look carefully they are usually full of some sort of energy. These instances are tied to something or someone. It may not bare great import on your life but it may be a factor in someone elses.
I am begining to think the reason why we see these things is that they may be confluences or juxtapositions of energies in yours or others lives. But then I don't know the real answer or why some don't involve anyone but you. (shrug).
But I have noticed that many of them are tied to emotional periods in my life. Not a emotional moment but an emotional/stressful period.

Deja vu is a really weird yet normal thing. My deja vu isnt really a deja vu- I know I have dreamt the situation before and somehow i am just catching up in time to the dream.

Deja vu- a very extreme deja vu- is a part of the partial complex epilepsy that I suffer from. It literally puts me on the floor. if you find that you are having these in the extreme it may be time to have a neurological exam t rule out problems.

do you know that there is a Jamais vu as well?? it is the complete opposite of deja vu in that the familiar is suddenly unknown to you. jamais vu is usually a bad sign of a brain tumor.

I've had many deja vu experiences in my life, but what I find strange is that I've never questioned them...like ok, this is normal. LOL guess this says something about me!

The weirdest one I experienced was when I was on a school trip, we drove into this town and I said to my 2 best friends who were sitting with me, "There is an ice cream shop on the next block, then I handed my girlfriend a kleenex, BEFORE she sneezed or even knew she was going to, then as we were driving out of the small town I said there is this really cool windmill coming up on your left." Well to say the least my friends and I thought I was a bit touched for about 5 minutes, as long as the episode lasted. When I got home I asked my parents about the area we had been in, thinking that we had traveled through there as a family. My parents swore I never had, and I truthfully I knew it before they said it, cause you always have that same "ooooo" =O feeling during deja vu, at least I do.

Cool isn't?

You know I think I am going to start writing down when mine happen and the situation at that time. I can't seem to compare them to my dreams as of yet, but maybe if I keep a log it will help. I think this is very interesting and enjoy hearing your stories about it too!

Kell I checked out that site and it was very informative. They also mentioned the Jamais Vu that Sundog was talking about. Anybody else got some theories on this?? Hey maybe the aliens pick out the MOST intelligent humans and stick chips in our brains and every now and then give us a good zap to see how we will react =O!

Hey it could happen!

Cindy, I haven't had a chance to read that site very well, but the beginning seemed interesting. I think it's best too, to look at others' point of view and not just rely on one, i.e. this one site - the author's posint of view. There is more out there to read! =P

Chatter, that was pretty cool! Did you feel any kind of a connection to that town, other than knowing where stuff was?

It was quite a few years ago Kell, but what I do remember is chatting and singing with my friends when all of a sudden I glanced out of the window and briefly looked at the sky...I began getting that "oooo" feeling, I stopped singing and said, "weird" than we started to drive into the town and I started to discribe things. I guess in some way I felt a connection, but what that exact connection was I don't know. Like I said before, I've always felt when I do this its something "normal" for me and haven't put too much thought into why it happens, just that it does. In the past 6 months or so I've been keeping a journal...maybe that will shed some light someday on what really occurs. =)

I've had experiences also and it was just weird to me!
A few times, the strangest thing happened when I was rocking my girls to sleep. It happened once with each of them, I began to sing an old french song (yes, I'm french) that I'd never heard before... I mentioned it to my mother both times and we looked at some old books she got when my great-grandmother passed away and both songs were in there... This was a song book she brought from France ! It's weird how life plays out isn't it?
