I've heard from some people that spirits can follow people but I'm not 100% sure. Like some of you have said, unless you get a clear message, it could simply be some spirit that wants you to think it is such and such a person...
Now I'm planning on smudging and doing a prayer before we start moving or after we start moving (maybe both).
The reason I ask this (about following) is because some of the "tricks" that we still see now, have gone on in other places we've lived as well. The cupboard opened up yesterday and hit me in the head while I was making a coffee for my friend and I. She saw it and says "That's not just off level, something pushed it open at that speed"... This has happened before, lights going on and off, tv, etc. Do I smudge the house before, after, both and then do I smudge the new house as well once we're in there?
Can smudging make things worse?

I believe spirits can and sometimes do follow people. I believe I had one spirit that followed me around for a while. Not a very good one either. I moved a few times and it still seemed to be around.
As for smudging. Before, after, inbetween,... anytime you think a smudging will help. Just have faith. Smudging when you believe in what your doing and in a Higher Power works so well. It's never failed me.

So basically I can do it as much as I feel strongly about it... that's good.

Can anyone tell me that they felt a difference after smudging was done? I don't mean feel different once you notice things aren't happening, I just mean a feeling in the pit of your stomach (the someone's watching me feeling)?

Hi Nancy,

I too believe that spirits can follow. Another thing you might want to do before you move... while smudging, tell them they are not allowed to follow, they must stay put or go into the light. (preferably into the light)

As for the atmosphere after smudging, I've noticed it feels 'lighter'... so I think it does remove some of the negativity. =)

Nancy, I believe spirits attach themselves to people as well as objects (furniture, jewelry, etc...) I've got antiques that I feel give off some sort of odd feelings. I do think the smudging would help! It probably wouldn't hurt to smudge your new place before you move in!

I'm really thinking of smudging the new place. Aunt Sandy was actually happy when I emailed her the picture of that mist the other day because as she put it "Oh God, now I don't think I'm a freak anymore, I've seen some stuff too" Now I'll be going over this weekend so we'll have time to chit chat about it although, I'm not sure it would be a good idea. Maybe I should just smudge so that I don't feel things that aren't there!
Thanks all of you for your advice,
Nancy
