I was wondering if it was just me, or has anyone else noticed the similarities in these two cases? Both beautiful little blue eyed blondes, affluent backgrounds, neighboring states, taken right under the nose of their families...? Think about what Jon Benet, minus the glitz and make up would have looked like in seven more years. Wasn't the Ramsey father a real estate developer also? (Elisabeth's father is) I can't help but wonder if the police are looking into the possibility of a serial killer? ='( I don't mean to sound morbid, but for the most part, these kidnapping cases do not turn out well.
I know so many people think Jon Benet's family had a hand in her death, but I've always had some nagging doubts. Any thoughts?

I wasn't even aware of the Elizabth Smart kidnapping! She was taken on June 5th... I didn' t know! I haven't been watching the news very much..

She is a beautiful girl. Looks talented too. I feel so sad for her and her family. I don't have a good feeling on this one either. =(

Jon Benet's father was a computer software developer or something.... his business was called Access, I think.

I heard something else about Elizabeth's case the other day that a lot of the media has not mentioned. Her mother's father passed away of cancer and was buried the day before the child was abducted. That almost makes me wonder if a relative or associate of the family could have spotted her at the funeral and taken her. I just cannot fathom the grief this woman must be in. They would have to just put me away and dope me up, I don't think I could function. ='(

Things like this are so scary! I'm always told that I'm paranoid about my kids but I tell you, even paranoid parents who are diligent about watching their children can have something like this happen!
I would have to be doped up too if anything happened to my girls...
What aggravates me the most is that some parents don't seem to care what their kids are up too... For instance a street over, I know that there was talk about a truck driving around (looking suspicious) and yet, one of my daughter's classmates was still playing outside with her mother or father no where to be found! These kids are in JK for God sakes! Grrr!
I hope this turns out ok, although like others have said, the feeling is nagging!
Please God let Elizabeth be alright and come home to her parents!

I don't think anyone can be too paranoid about their kids nowadays! They're even in danger at church. ='( The best thing a parent can do is not to let them out of their sight as much as possible. I don't think there is anything the Smart's could have done, but so many child abductions go right back to neglect on the part of the parent (I'm thinking of the little Van Dam girl). So sad.
