For years I used to have the same dream. Not every night but at least twice a month sometimes more. The dream was set during what I remember around mid to late 1700's. There was a young lady in the dream who was very sad. It was as though I was her , seeing through her eyes in the dream. She had on period clothing and I remember the material of the dress was coarse almost like burlap or something similar. Whenever I have this dream I always wake up in roughly the same place. She's standing in water about calf deep looking out over a harbour, crying. When I am waking from this dream I always hear the name Rebecca Dewhurst being whispered. I know it sounds crazy, and I have tried to research the name and have come up with nothing. I was wondering if anyone has either had or heard of anything like this. I am a beleiver in the paranormal and reincarnation but I don't think it's me. It's more like a message. Thoughts?

hi skyla

Is the water that you see her in blue, blue in your dreams means you need may pay attention to your emotional life. This is just out of a dream book that i have i may well be way off.

As for the voice do you know if you are in reality or is it happening when you are still dozing? Is it in your house? have you had any more experiences? Do you know the history of the house how old etc.

As for the name i really dont know.

Skyla, it sure sounds like a case of reincarnation, I would say a young sailor's wife, or a woman who has lost her child to the sea? Does the area in which the dream takes place look familiar?
It also very well could be some type of message. Maybe the name you mentioned is not that of the woman you are seeing, but someone associated with her? A friend, relative, or even someone she didn't like very much?
I know this sounds a little far fetched, but have you acquired any antiques, jewelry, etc... in recent months? Anything in your house that might be from that era? I collect antiques, and antique jewelry, and I've had a few experiences of really getting strong "vibes" out of some of the pieces, including some odd dreams.

Thank you all for your input. I'll try to answer the questions in all your replies. First of all the "water" she is standing in is gray. It is really misty or foggy around her. I don't recognize the area at all. As far as antiques or jewelery go I don't have anything other than my grandmothers ring. It is a very old cameo. The house I live in is only about 40 yrs. old and I've lived here for 11 yrs. There have been some activity here but nothing related to this dream as far as I can tell. I had the dream in other locations. That is why I thought it might be some type of message. I have had experiences with ghosts for as long as I can remember but nothing connected to the dream. Skyla.

How do you feel about the dream? How do you feel in the dream? Search your feelings Skyla. What impressions do you get from it.
You said that you don't think it is a previous life for you. Why? (just probing to get you to search your impressions of the dream).

I have a spirit guide named Rebecca. I don't know if there is a connection. But I have had visions years ago about people I have only recently met on the internet. Maybe this is something like it. Maybe not.

Thanks so much for the info. In the dream she appears to be around mid twenties I'd say. She is so sad. I've woken up from this dream absolutely sobbing and my chest aches. When I mentioned in my previous post that her dress was made out of a rough material I mentioned it because during the dream I can sense the roughness as though I am wearing it. I've even had chafed areas on my arms and chest the morning after I've had the dream. I'm not afraid of the dream in any way. I just don't understand why I keep having it. I feel so bad for her.

Skyla, have you ever thought of having a past lives regression done? It is possible that you WERE this girl in a previous lifetime. Of course, you would need a good hypnotist who is experienced in past lives regression, as there are some safety factors that need to be employed. The 'operator' (what the hypnotist for past lives regression is called) will put you at ease, and work with you to get you into a hypnotic state, and then proceed to focus on your going back through time. You will probably hit upon some other lives, too, in your journey to get back into the 1600's. I have been through a past life regression myself, and it is very interesting.

Good luck with finding out more!

Blessings,
