I looked this up after KT mentioned it in the 'time' thread. This is some serious !!!! I'm not done reading, but it gets into the Philadelphia Experiment, aliens and all kinds of things!

There are some incredibly bizarre things surrounding the Philadelphia Experiment (Project Rainbow) and its successor, the Mauntauk Project. I originally began looking into things while looking for information regarding the Waunaque Vortex in New Jersey. I lost most of my bookmarks due to a recent virus, but I was simply astounded at the sheer number of paranormal phenomenon attached to the Mauntauk Project.

The Vortex, apparently, may be the direct result of a rip in the fabric of time/space brought about by the Mauntauk Project. Reports of time warps allowing prehistoric animals into the region have surfaced with some intriguing 'conspiracy theory' government documentation....UFOs and aliens have frequented the site for over thirty years...ghosts of all forms (apparitions, mists, orbs, streaming energies) regularly appear on film and video here...'rods' show up on film....visitors report experiencing 'time warp' encounters...and there is alleged photographic evidence of alien technology producing a doppleganger of one of the researchers looking into it all.

I'll see if I can't find some of the bookmarks again to post here....the story is rather strange and perhaps arugably more the stuff of high fiction than of fact. Nazi gold, time travel, alien/government conspiracies, genetic engineering...it's all there and most everyone presents some "evidence" in the form of alleged government documentation to lend creedence to their presentations. Incredibly fascinating stuff, but material that ought to be taken with a grain of salt. Some of the authors are...how do you put it nicely?

All very entertaining to read. I lap this stuff up. But like you said KT take it with a grain of salt. Information is only as good as the person who writes it. ;-)

Here, here! So true, Kim.

KT, is the Waunaque Vortex in New Jersey similar to the others found in different areas? For instance, The Oregon Vortex? We have vortex areas up in Sedona that I want to go check out someday.

Kell,

The Waunaque Vortex is something altogether unique as far as "vortices" are concerned. I think that I first recall hearing about it from the Fox Family television program, "Real Scary Stories." Apparently, the site was considered to be very sacred ground to the indigenous American Indian tribes in the area and became taboo because it was considered the domain of spirits.

During the time between the World Wars, a munitions complex was built on the site by the government. An accident of unknown origins triggered some massive explosions that levelled the facility, killing scores of factory workers in the process. Since that time, the vortex has been considered a very haunted place.

But, what sets this site apart from all the other known vortices is just the sheer amount of unusual phenomenon tied into it...ghosts, UFOs, government conspiracies, and all the stuff previously mentioned. And, it is unusual that photographic results are pulled out of it time and time again.

In particular, I have found a lot of information posted to the web by a mysterious figure calling himself Sargel18. The impression he gives me is that he is a UFOlogist of sorts, but many of his photos appeals to my interests in the ghostly end of things. He had produced tons of orbs, mists, rods, streaming energy, and even an apparition of a female spirit ringing a small bell! And, he has his share of "demons" and extraterrestial life forms as well to show....

To the best of my knowledge, no other 'natural' vortice has either the amount or the variety of phenomenon present as Waunaque. Having grown up in Montana, I am most familiar with the Flathead vortex....the swirling natural energies here have bent trees over to mirror the flow and it is incredibly easy for visitors to become somewhat disoriented while on site. I have never heard of any ghost stories attached to the site, but I have heard of UFO reports in the area....but, that isn't too surprising considering the number of missle silos in the area. ET has a thing for looking into things that make a big boom when they go off. =O!

I still have to pull up all the bookmarks, but a search of the web for Sargel18 might turn up some of his work...some of it is rather obscurely placed because of "government interest" in his studies. I know that the Phantom or Fraud? site out of the UK has some of the Waunaque Vortex material there, as well as some of the paranormal links pages....so, I don't know Kell. Have a look around and compare and contrast them with the reports you have about Sedona and Oregon. ;-)

I just checked out the Sargel18 site...he does have some great pics, although I do agree with Azspirit, some I would question. Interesting site, but pretty strange!
