I used to live in the south. And my townhome was built ontop of the civil war battleground: One night laying in bed I happened to look in the corner of the room and there was a soilder there. He had taken me back in time to this horrible place. I seen a war right infront of my eyes. Death was all around me I can feel their emotions angry, sad. Before this soilder dissapeard he told me his name. As I woke the next day I remembered this mans name. Went on the computer and looked under deceased soilders of the civil war. And sure enought his name popped up on my monitor =O! I thought to myself why would he show me this. As my husband got home later in the day I told him my story. He said "didnt you know that the state house was taking down the rebel flag today" I said: "no wasnt aware of that" I come to the realization that this man was mad because he and many others died and the only thing to represent them is the rebel flag.

I used to live in Vicksburg and believe me, there were some really strange things in that town. Almost everyone has a story to tell. It's a very active place. Wish I had taken more pictures when I lived there.

eeep! I guess that's why he showed up! That's scary to be taken back in time like you were... to a not so great place... =O

I had a Civil War name given to me in a dream awhile back, too. I found it in the records as well, but I don't know what to make of it! I wonder if it was around the same time as what happened to you?

Ghstbster, that is one of those experiences that kind of 'jars your soul'. That fellow had to be trying to get your attention, and to get you to do something to help his cause. The removal of that Rebel flag from the state house is something that was terribly upsetting to many 'living Rebels', so I am sure that it had a dreadful effect on any spirits who are lingering here. They are probably very worried that folks will forget about them, and the war they fought so bravely that they gave their very lives for their political beliefs.
I believe I know the feeling of such a powerful experience, and it is just so real in your memory, you get this same powerful feeling all over again when you think about the dream/encounter. Is this the way this is for you, too?

Oh I can remember it as if it was yesturday. That night really opened my eyes. =O! That is one of the best and worst experiences Ive had with a spirit. The good part is that it was so real when I was back in my room after it was over I sat there and thought WOW I cant believe that just happened. The worst is that I had to see all that death and hatred all around. It wasnt a pleasant site believe you me. =(
