My grandfather was one of those happy go lucky alcoholics. Totally sober, you couldn't get him to admit that he believed in the paranormal but when he was drinking, all things were possible.

My uncle just told me this story. He was visiting my grandparents with his brother-in-law (I'll call him Jay) who was maybe 12 at the time. My grandfather had been drinking and they were all sitting at the kitchen table talking about how they could get rid of Jay's warts. The kid’s hands were covered with them. My grandfather said that he'd seen them cured once by a witch lady. He made jay lay his hands on the table and my grandfather waived his own hands over Jay's and said some words. My uncle said he didn't recognize the words but it didn't sound like my grandfather was joking when he said them. The next morning, Jay called my uncle and all the warts had fallen off. When my uncle told my grandfather (of course he was sober now), my grandfather didn't remember anything and denied doing it.

=O!

That is pretty cool Connie! I bet that kid was surprised.
James works with a young man about 22, who is the boss's son. Sweet kid, but let's just say he has a few "issues", one of which is psychosomatic illnesses, that have become a bit of an office joke.
One day, after doing something slightly annoying, James turned to the young man, and said, "A pox on you!"
The next day, the fellow came down with chicken pox! He is still convinced James is some sort of witch doctor!

Wow! I wonder why he denies it? Perhaps he is afraid of it somewhat. That was facinating!
