My father had an interesting experience yesterday morning in the kitchen. He'd made his morning coffee from one of those Folgers Singles™ things... the single coffee bag in a packet. He left the packet with the used coffee bag laying on it, along with the tab of the packet he had to rip off, on the counter, above the dishwasher. It was a good 4-5 inches away from the edge, as usual.

Later in the morning, he opened the dishwasher and was putting dishes in. As he was bent over putting a dish in the bottom rack, the tab from the coffee packet came sliding off the counter and onto the open dishwasher door, right in front of him! [Shock] It was as if someone had flicked it off the counter, or given it a scoot. [Laughing]

He's positive that it wasn't a movement of his that caused it to fall (a whoosh of air, etc.), because he was already bent over. There are no air vents in that area, no doors, no open windows.

Kell,
I was wondering if this is the 1st time He has had anything like this happen? Does he live in a house with a past (so to speak)?
I used to live in a house where you could hear someone walking through, but i don't think stuff ever got moved like that.
Maybe someone is trying to reach him or something.

Hi Tess,

He's actually had a lot of paranormal experiences in his life, up to and including seeing apparitions when he was a boy. I'm living in the same house I grew up in, with both parents (long story).... but yes, this house has had numerous strange things happen over the years - to all of us. We've even considered the possibility that there may be a portal here.

Speaking of hearing someone walking through the house... when I was about 10, I heard something walk down the hall, past my open bedroom door, on Christmas morning. It sounded as if they were dragging chains as they walked. I never saw anything pass by though! The sound started at the far end of the hallway and ended, it seemed, at the other end that goes to the living room. [Eek! 2]
