This is weird but cool at the same time!

Tim and I have been having a difficult time with this house lately but now instead of feeling like we're adversaries, we've become best friends again!
Last night, while laying in bed wide awake, we were chatting about the future, the girls, etc. Suddenly I realized he wasn't paying attention to me and he was staring at the doorway. Just before I was able to open my mouth he pointed and I saw that there was a white light around the crucifix on the wall. It was as if the light was framing the crucifix.
I fumbled for my camera which was in the living room on the computer desk and took a picture. I didn't get the result I'd hoped for... considering all the lights were off, the room pitch black, I got a weird white picture with some "design" on it.
Anyways, if you can depict something in that picture, let me know! [Laughing]

That is certainly strange. I couldn't see anything in the picture, but I almost wonder if "someone" didn't want their picture taken. Was this a digital camera?
I'm glad you and Tim are getting along better! [Smile]

I have no idea what the picture is of... I can't really see anything. It's odd that it should turn up so white in a dark room, unless the camera was having trouble with the darkness of the room and the flash overcompensated? Dunno, MamaB! What color are the room walls?

Me too! I'm glad you and Tim are getting on well! [Jumper]

Thanks!
The color of the walls in the living room are plain old wood (medium tone panelling). The rest of the rooom is hunter green!
I've been racking my head because I remembered taking a picture in the cubby upstairs where it was pitch black and the picture turned out perfect. It does make me wonder... hum?! [Laughing]

Was this light you were trying to get a picture of in your bedroom or in the living room? Were you looking out fromthe bedroom into the hallway when you saw it?

From our bedroom to the living room is the way we saw it. When I got out of bed to get my camera the "apparition" was still there and by the time I got the camera it was still there too... Tim was mesmerized by this for a few minutes before I even noticed it. I've never seen anything like it before either. I was thinking that even if the frame of light didn't show on the pic that something else might, but all that white? That's the weirdest part.

That is a strange one Nancy. I can't even make out the crucifix. How close to the wall were you when you took the photo? I seems like the flash overcompensated and made everything bright. But I can't make out the dark shadows. It almost looks like a person with their arm thrown over their face to avoid the light. Perhaps if you polarized the image? Like view it as a negative you would see more detail?

Sorry, I didn't see anything in the picture. It is possible that what you were seeing, the amount of light, was only part of what the camera picked up. That the light visible to your naked eye was only part of the light that the film was sensitive to. So it came out so white like there was a lot of light.
Was it a digital or chemical (film) camera?

And that is wonderful you two are getting along so good now. [Smile] [Smile] [Smile] [Smile] [Smile] [Smile] [Smile]
