Hey all, I wanted to tell you about my weekend in Charleston SC. My wife and I decided to drive up to Charleston from Orlando to spend this last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in search of relaxation. While there we were facinated by the history of the buildings and houses dating back to the 1600's, and of the stories of the Charleston Ghosts which are still seen frequently by the many tourists that visit. Last night we went on one of the ghost tours which involves walking parts of the town as a guide tells you of several of the more famous ghosts. One of the stops included a graveyard which backs right up to a church dating back to the 1700's. After our tour was done, we decided to go back to that same graveyard to take some pictures from the street of some pretty cool looking headstones through an iron fence which surrounds the church and graveyard. (will post later) Keep in mind that its now about 2:30am and I was pretty tired from walking all day. As I drove around a corner and pulled into a parking spot directly in front of the cemetary, I caught a glimpse of a person standing partially in the street. I zipped around the corner and into the spot so quick I scared the hell out of myself thinking that I almost clipped the person with the car. With my adrenalin pumping, I backed up the car without explaining to my wife as I knew it would freak her out. THERE WAS NOBODY THERE! In fact, after parking and getting out of the car, I didnt see anyone anywhere around. Now I know I was tired and my mind was playing tricks on my after hearing ghost stories from my tour, but I SWEAR I really thought I almost clipped a person with the car. Ive always been facinated by ghost stories but have never before sought them out. Did I see one last night? I really dont know.... Charleston is said to be the most haunted city in the US. I really cant wait to get my photos developed now. Have any of you seen the photo online of the woman in white kneeling over a gravesight in Charleston? Thats the same graveyard I visited. Have any of you had similar experiences or am I going crazy? I just found this website tonight so I look foward to your responces.

Welcome to SpiritKeep, Znarffsu! I'm glad you found us. Thanks for sharing your exprience! [Smile]

Wow! Sounds like you had a bit of a scare there! Did this take place at the St. Philips Graveyard? Although you were tired at the time, I still think it's entirely possible to have seen 'someone' like you did. No, you're not going crazy. [No!] Do you recall what the person was wearing or what they looked like at all (even in a glimpse)? Did you experience anything like it thereafter?

I'm anxious to see your pictures! Please do share them with us when you get them developed. [Smile] Also, a little note - when developing ghost photos (or ones you think could have activity in them), tell the developer to NOT discard any seeming developing errors. In other words, you want every picture on the roll(s). There can sometimes be anomalies in the pics that a developer may think of as a bad pic and pitch it, when in actuality, it may be a great ghost pic!

Where did you two stay while there? Just curious. [Toothy Grin]

OK, I GOT SOMETHING I THINK!!!!! I cant look at one of my graveyard pictures without clearly seeing a man in front of one of the tombstones. Ive looked at it from many angles and I still see him. I really need to find my scanner software so I can upload this picture for you. This is too weird..... My sceptic wife sees it too.

Hi Znarffsu, and welcome to SpiritKeep!!!! I am really excited that you have shared a story with us, and that you will soon have some pictures, too!! That sounds like you must have some good shots of our friends on the 'other side'. That is just terrific!
I have never been to Charleston, but we know a couple of folks who are very fascinated with the history and the hauntings. Wow, it sounds like a fun place to visit for anyone who is interested in ghosts.
I am looking forward to getting to know you, and hearing any more stories you may have about haunted places! [Smile]

Ok, it didnt scan well but you can still see him a little. In the actual photo you can make out his jacket a bit.

Look at the center stone and you will hopefully see a face looking to the left.

Ooooh, a ghostie trip, i wanna do that!!!
I think i see what your talking about, just above the center stone, right above where it comes to a point. Is that what your talking about? The face i see is looking to the right not the left. Great pic!

I don't see it. [Sad] Z, could you scan the pic at 300 DPI and email it to me so I can have a better look? Don't do any manipulations with brightness or anything - just scan and send it. I'd appreciate it! [Wink]

Ok, look again..... Ive outlined exactly what we have been looking at. Look back at the first picture and im sure you will see it now. Its a shame that you cant see the original as its very clear. The scan just doesnt do it justice.

Hi Znarffsu,

Ah, I see what you're talking about now. [Smile] It does look a bit like a man's face! I noticed that before, but to me, it looks more like it may be part of the headstone itself... Possibly a weathered area or a carving in the stone, because the contours of the face follow the top of the headstone almost exactly.

Do you have any other shots it can be compared to?

Thanks again for sharing it with us. The whole cemetery looks neat!

I'm with Kell on the weathering of the stone. Am I th only one who sees the shadowy figure just above the outlined part? It almost looks like Abe Lincoln, LOL.
