Is anyone else seriously ticked at this woman!? She's the one that was caught on a security camera beating the holy *beep* out of her 4 y/o daughter. You can see the story & video here[/URL].

I've been listening to this woman crying and whining all morning on the news about how her daughter shouldn't have to "pay for this" by them taking her into foster care. Um.... lady, do you not get it? I believe she's claiming this was the one and only time she's ever hit her kids, but by the look of that video, I beg to differ.

grrrrr stupid woman (not the word I want to use but I'm being g rated here) stupid stupid woman. You know I can see being aggravated and yelling but you under no circumstance beat your chld like that. There's just no reason for it . Stupid woman.

Someone should give that woman a taste of her own medicine! I'm glad they got that on video, there's no telling what that poor little girl was going through behind closed doors. My heart aches for that poor little thing.

I personally would like five minutes alone with this worthless wench. I guarantee I could solve her problems.
Things like this make my ugly side rear up. They are referring to her as an "Irish Traveler" which is a PC term for gypsy. These folks are not well thought of in Ireland. When we were there, we were warned to stay out of certain towns in the evening if these folks had a wedding or any other social occasion. They were likened to something out of the Old West, with people crashing through windows, doors, etc...
I'm not buying her "poor little me" act for a second, or the remarks of her slime ball lawyer. This is a woman who has no remorse for her actions other than for the publicity of getting caught.

It's hard to make a judgement call on this. But with the information provided in the article it's very likely that this wasn't the first time. And if something is not done it won't be the last.
And some of the things they had in the article said that that family has real problems. I'll be those boys have bruises too.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: people on "the inside" detest people like her. They have zero tolerance for grown up's who beat the $h!t out of little kids and so she will no doubt geta taste of her own medicine while awaiting trial. I personally hope she rots in hell! I find myself trying to find a possible answer for why she went off on her daughter like that, I mean every mom has a bad day. But there is simply NO answer for that. Every time I watched the video I counted the number of times she wailed on her and I counted something like 35 times and half of those were what appeared to be in the head and face area! How can anyone do that to another human, letalone a child. Am I supposed to feel okay about her because she turned herself in? No! She would have been found sooner or later because of the enraged outcry from a lot of people. Do I feel sorry that her kids are being placed into Foster care? Yes and no. The foster care system in unindated with millions of other cases and beacuse of this kids that really really need help tend to get lost in the system, but on the other hand those kids are far safer away from that woman than with her.

How about this. Get a 6'6" guy of large muscular build (about the same proportion of that woman to her little girl) and have him hit her 35 times and see if she feels that a bad day is a good excuse for something like that. She would want the death penalty for anyone who did that to her. But I guess it's OK for her own flesh and blood.

As I understand it, she had gone to the department store to return 2 pair of jeans, of which she was refused a cash refund. She was ticked off about this, and the child's behavior was the icing on the cake. I've counted also Miss Grrl, and came up with about the same figure. This piece of trash they call a person can whine all she wants about her "bad day", and "just losing her temper", but in my book, she is a sick puppy and I'm hoping she serves some time with some other folks who "just have some bad days." I'd just like to see that creep of a lawyer right in there with her.
Another point that ticks me off is the fact that the other two children have been left with the family. Short of the parents being axe murderers, this is CPS's philosophy. Madelyn Toogood didn't learn these behaviors going to the Sunday school picnic. Anyone capable of the abuse she dished out to that child learned that at home. I'm willing to bet she was done the same way, and she and her family thinks it is acceptable to use your child as a punching bag. Like I said, the only remorse she has is at being caught. I'm hoping they throw the book at her.

Let me just say that I think what she did to her child is wrong wrong wrong!!!!! I believe in being able to admonish you child maybe with a slap, not to the face though and not as hard. I hope that she gets everything that she deserves!!! She makes me had!! and gives parent a bad name

So has anyone heard tat she turned the wrong little girl in when She surrendered herself to the police? It was on MSNBC yesterday, they are looking for the right little girl. Now, who in their right mind would let you just borrow a kid? Espicially knowing that the kid would probably wind up with Human Services.

I had heard she brought her daughter to a doctor for an examination and took pictures. The photo developer turned them in cause they might have been child pornography! That and the fact she gave a wrong address.

Will have to check this out.

The last I heard, which was on the CNN site, said that the little girl was indeed Martha. There had even been speculation that the woman in the picture was not the same as the woman who turned herself in. Obviously, she had dyed her hair, but my husband pointed out the woman on the tape appeared slimmer. I think they have the right gal.
I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't end up serving some time. If not for this incident, then for her past activities catching up with her. I don't know if anyone has heard this, but FOX has reported that she and her husband own several very expensive (we're talkin' Cadillac SUV) automobiles. Roofers must make a darn good living. (Dripping with sarcasm).

What really got me when I saw the video was that she paused for a second and looked around the parking lot to make sure nobody was looking before she beat the living daylights out of that poor little girl. She states now that she just "snapped". If you look around first for witnesses, you didn't "just snap", you planned it!

As a mother myself, I know there are days when you are just crazy, everything goes wrong, and your kids are making you insane, but you never, ever take out your frustration on your children physically!! I have no sympathy for people like her!! My children have gotten a good swat or two on their "clothed bottom" when they need it, but if I'm too angry, I walk away. It's better to not punish at all if you are not in control of your emotions at the time.

All the crocodile tears she has shed in my opinion are for herself because she got caught!

This woman really needs everything she gets, and I am hoping she gets some jail time!!! Nakis, I like your idea about the large man getting hold of her, and hitting her about 35 times, just so she can see how that feels! I agree with you, too, Pookie.... she didn't 'just snap', she knew she was about to do something very wrong, and she checked to see if anyone was watching!!! Bless whoever it was with the video camera!! They caught her in action, and there is just no excuse for beating on a child like that!
