Only on weekdays ... I think he's doing this while going to work, coming from work or on breaks from work.
The composite they released of the box truck surprised me. If any of you saw the footage of the "road block" where they were stopping white vans, you know what I mean, they were stopping the Chev. Astro VANS instead of the BOX TRUCKS.

I think the cops have their hands so full on this one! Then a major waste of time like that happens?
Also, now the the media's been dipping it's paws into the fact of the vehicle being driven, who's to say this jerk hasn't gone off to rent another vehicle. Heck, he could rent a different one for every shooting he will do!? Have the cops and media thought of that? Without a tip from a co-worker, ex co-worker, warehouse with the trucks, etc, who's to say if he'll be caught?
That's what scares me like crazy!
What's he doing now? Is he tuned into CNN, watching the news? Seeing what they've figured out or not?
Psychopath!

I have to agree that this guy(s)are probably sitting at home flipping through the News Channels seeing himself plaster all over the news. I bet he just loves it. I just wish that the new media would just report on what they know and speculate as to why this guy is doing it ect. I just hate the news they seem to get on a topic and beat it to death. (sorry bad choose of words [Sad] ) They always do it. I would doubt that this nut started out think that doing this would get him alot of attention from the media. I just hope that they catch him soon with as little of bloodshed as possible.

Miranda, I understand what you're saying about him possibly knowing what the Death card *really* means, but I just get the feeling it doesn't go that deep with him. (Transforming himself.) I think he's simply interested in death/killing. 'I'm God, I decide when you die' attitude. We also need to keep in mind that the Death card *can* mean physical death.

Nancy - It's also been reported that he was in a white Astro minivan, so that's why you saw that. [Wink]

I was taken aback when I saw the box truck. He works as a local truckdriver and shoots people while he's out driving around! That explains the wide area he's covering, too. He doesn't shoot on weekends because he's at home with the wife & kid and can't get away to do this stuff. I say it's possible too, that whatever company he's working for may also have white minivans to use for smaller deliveries.

In an odd way, his crimes remind me much of the Zodiac Killer (who was never caught, BTW). Remember him? Here's a website about him, for those who don't know: ZodiacKiller.com[/URL] Now, I'm not saying this guy is the Zodiac, but I think he definitely may be inspired by him. [Oh Well]

I'm worried that he may shoot one of the Guardian Angels that are pumping gas for folks. That really is so nice of them to do, but it really puts their lives on the line. [Sad]

Yet another victim and now in my area (Long Island, NY) some sniper wanna be shot at 2 people.

Last night a woman driving heard shots and something hit her car. When she got home, there were holes in her door and the autobody shop found a bullet. A man was standing outside of his car when he heard "firecrackers" and felt something wiz just over his head.

I am sure this is going on in other places since this started. Hopefully with the information from the last assasination, they will get him. [Cry] My heart goes out to her poor husband who witnessed this.

Here is an article I found. This man is whacked [Nutty]

The Sniper and Tarot
A Message from our Founder
October 10, 2002
It is unfortunate that a psychotic murderer is using an ancient tool for self-discovery to communicate his madness.

The Death card is one of the 78 cards in a Tarot deck that depict different aspects of human psychology. In spite of the Death card's macabre representation in some Tarot decks -- an image of the grim reaper which goes back to the European plague -- this card is not considered by Tarot scholars to be about physical death. Rather, it represents the necessary shedding of old forms to make way for rebirth or new growth. It is associated with the season of winter.

Tarot has been largely co-opted by fortune-tellers, but a Tarot reading is not about the future. Tarot can only offer a reflection of the present moment ... and a Tarot reading is only about the one who picks the cards. Even though he doesn't know it, by choosing this particular card, the sniper is actually pointing to his own inner deadness. It is obvious that he knows nothing about Tarot or he might have used the cards to heal himself and spared the lives of innocent victims.

I've got an Aunt and Uncle living in Potomac Maryland and their grown kids live in areas surrounding that. My Aunt was planning a trip this weekend down to West Virginia to visit our elderly Aunts and my Mom was going down to visit too but my Aunt called to let her know she was canceling the trip because she's afraid something might happen to one of her kids while she's gone. My cousin was in his apartment and heard the shot that killed the bus driver.

How horrible! Something is just terribly wrong that this guy hasn't been caught yet. James and I were talking about this, he knows a lot more about firearms than I do. He has a theory that this guy may not be driving away, but simply breaking the weapon down and putting it in a gym bag or briefcase, and blending in with other witnesses. The police may have been mislead with all the white van tips and are looking in the wrong direction.
I know most of the signs point to a home grown lunatic, but I still can't get the Al-Queda aspect out of my mind. The letter they received was in broken english, plus, in the botched communication attempt they were able to determine the caller had a heavy accent. Still, the "I am God" card is confusing -- I can't see a fundamentalist Muslim doing that. Everything about this case is confusing. I feel for the people living in that area.

I agree with Carrie: this is just too Al-Queda type. They can't blow up any more planes or crash into any more buildings, that's too obvious and we're "ready" for that now that we've been stung, not once but twice! The guy knows only enough about Tarot to appear ominous and threatening but as Mare said, not the real meaning behind it. The media isn't helping much by spending countless hours talking about it.... don't get me wrong, this is a tragic situation that seems to be getting worse each day. But with all the media attention he (or she) is getting, there's no reason for the blood shed to stop. This is "fun" to the nut job that's doing this. A game of cat and mouse. I agree also that he/she might be breaking down the weapon and blending in with the crowds, afterwards a "hide in plain sight" type thing. There have been too many conflicting stories about what witnesses saw, which I believe to be a part of the game, that keep the authorities guessing and running in circles. If it were'nt so sick, it's pretty d@mned clever.

I hope they find the sick ba$turd and soon! Too many innocent lives have been lost or ruined and for what reason?!

I swear what in the world is wrong with people anymore?? I can hardly believe this is happening to begin with [Mad]

I just heard on MSN a statement that the sniper wanted them to say on national television. "We caught the sniper like a duck in a noose". The sniper said that hearing the police say this was important to he/them?? What an odd thing to request and what the heck does that mean anyway?? I have a sneaking suspicion too that we are going to find out eventually this is coming from the same mad men who caused the Twin Tower bombing.

As much as I want to keep up on all new information regarding the sniper, I worry that we give way too much info via the media. At the same time, I feel we really do need to know for our own safety and our families in other states. It really upsets me that we even have to deal with situations like this at all. My heart goes out to all the victims and their families.

As most probably know already, two men have been arrested, but I have a feeling there might be more to come. These were a pair of home grown nut cases; however, at least one of them was a convert to Islam.
I am in full support of freedom of religion. I have no problem with anyone's beliefs, as long as it does not involve harming another. However, I would have undercover agents at every mosque in the U.S. I would feel the same way if the Baptists, Buddhist, Pagans, Presbyterians, etc... were committing acts like this. Most, I am sure, have nothing to hide, but the ones that do need to be caught before more innocent lives are lost.
We looked up the "Ground Zero" training ground where one of these men had trained. SCOTLAND YARD had to tell us about this place training Islamic terrorist in our own backyard!! They used a burned out school bus with mannequins for target practice and we remained clueless. Those mannequins were meant to represent our children. These #(&&(*&( don't care if they kill our children, our parents, our loved ones. I'll start feeling some tolerance and understanding when the last of these creeps are stomped out like the scum of the earth they are! How many others have been trained there, and do we know where they are?!
Ok, I'll get off my soapbox! It just makes me so mad!

I don't think it's over just because they caught two people "wanted for questioning"...the other shoe has yet to drop. I agree with you Pookiebear...what's up with suc a weird statement? Why not like a hog in ropes, or a cow to slaughter...why specifically duck in a noose?

Sometimes when I allow myself to really get in touch with how I really feel about this crazy world I wish I could just take my family and hide under the nearest rock until the dust setles and the smoke clears. This is'nt supposed to be the kind of place I wanted my kids to grown up in. [Oh Well] It's all too scarey and forboding. I just don't feel safe anywhere I go. It used tobe that you could at least feel a modicum of safety when you shut the doors and closed the windows of your house...even that has changed. Drive by shootings, home invasions. Just last week the people who live underneath and across from me had an unruly guest that they asked to leave. Seems they'd all be drinking and this guy pulled out agun and was brandishing it. They asked him to leave before it got out of control and in utter stupifiying defiance he sat on their couch and shot himself in the head! By the time police and paramedics arrived his was DOA. My point is that it could have easily gone worse and the bullet could have flown into my living room or kitchen and killed or injured one of my family,or passers by.... my kids aren't safe at school, they're not safe in the own own home and they look to me and my husband for answers, which neithe rof us have. How do I say "it'll be alright" when I can't promise that because some a$$wipe might have a bad day and go shooting at people here in Arizona?
What happened to the time and people wher everyone knew everyone else and actually cared and took pride in themselves and one another? Where you could actually sleep with the windows open and night and not have to fear that someone would crawl in and kill or rape you? Or that oyu might wake up and find your kids gone because they've been taken from the warmth and comfort of their beds? What happened to the time when you could walk down a public street alone without having to suspect everyone you met? When did using sign language become dangerous because it could possibly link you to a gang? When did we have to start keeping our heads and eyes down so not to offend someone and get yourself killed? Where did ordinary common courtesies go? Like hello, thank you, you're welcome and have a nice day?

Well, the ballistics tests on bullets fired from the suspect's gun matches the bullets that killed the people in the sniping attacks. I hope that these two were it!! I don't want to even thing about more of them out there. Waht a travesty.
