Last night I had a dream that I was at my uncle's house. It was winter and there was snow on the ground. It was also night time. His porch light was on and I was just starting to walk up the steps to his back door when I noticed two white owls in the tree in his yard. One was sitting up higher in the tree than the other one. As I looked at them I heard the uppermost bird hoot. When it did, I got the impression that it represented my Dad and that he was going to die. I think the lower owl must represent my Mom as she is younger than my Dad (and also still alive). Can someone please give me their take on this dream, or if they see the same thing at least I will be able to try and make the time my family has left with him count. Actually, we should make every day count with all those we love even if we don't think they are about to leave us.

Hello Snoopy [Toothy Grin]

Well I don't know much about dream interpretation, but I did some hunting and found this little tidbit about owls in dreams for you....hopes this helps some! Good luck!

Your Dream Symbol Deciphered
You searched for: owl

Longtime symbolisms include death; spiritual darkness. Related to activities of the night-sexual or otherwise ("night owl")-it therefore shares some of the same symbolism as night/moon. It is the symbol of Athena (Greek goddess of learning/knowledge) and of Athens, the city named for her, and can be related to the Wise Old Man/Woman archetypes. Some of our idioms suggest its relationship to wisdom or balancing intellect/judgment against pure emotion ("wise as an owl") and to craftiness ("wise old owl").

Thanks guys! I think that now I better decide how to deal with the possibility of my dream being prophetic as opposed to being a figment of my paranoia.
