Around two years ago I had the most disturbing dream and it still stays with me to this day! It was so real and scary that ive never ever discussed it before apart from with really close friends! I was convinced I was awake and the only thing that let me know I wasnt was that I was watching TV in my bedroom (dont have one in there and now probably never will)!!!
I was sitting watching TV in bed when suddenly a very rough mans hand came over and grabbed me arm and hand over the face and round the neck!! I was then hauled on to the floor and being mauled!!! Pretty normal nightmare up until that point but this is what really freaked me out!!!! I could smell him really really strong that dirty unclean unkept smell and I bit really hard into the hand!!! I woke up and puked right there in my bed and couldnt get the smell out of my nose!! It stayed there for ages!
A while ago we had a psychic visit for a party and she told me she felt a male prescence in my room and my room only no where else in the house! Another thing I hate is any relationship I have in this house with any partner always seems strained and lost a healthy relationship that turned very sour and mentally derogatory shortly after moving here!!
Sorry its long but it took alot of heartsearching to share this!!!
This is only the dream briefly but I do still everynow and again get a wiff of the unclean body smell when I enter the room and its really horrid!!! Forgot to add this!!!

Wow! That was a terrible dream. I've had a few like this and I think that Lefora is particularly interested in these types of dreams. I wonder if this spirit caused the dream or if it was a nightmare influenced by a subconcious knowledge of him. The physical reaction you had when you woke up definately points to something out of the ordinary. Were you aware at some point during the dream that you were dreaming? I find that when this happens to me- usually during sleep paralysis- that I do become aware that I am dreaming but am unable to wake up. Biting seems to be the trigger that woke you up. Had there been anything associated with biting prior to this when you were awake? The smell I sort of understand because I to can smell things in my dreams. When you smell this foul odor do you think that it is actually in the enviroment at the time or do you think that something has triggered the smell as a memory? I ask this because alot of times something, usually music, will cause me so smell a scent that I previously associated with it.

Have you done anything to cleanse your bedroom, like smudge, candles, incense, or prayer? It sounds like you might need to bring some positive emotions back in there.

I never have had before a dream this vivid it was horrid and have never repeated it to this extent there are other times when ive felt particulary uncomfortable in the room especially when undressing! Other times it goes away for month and months!! I did have a similar dream once where the hand (not sure if it was the same one) reached from behind the bed and grabbed me but I woke immediatly on this occasion and KNEW I was asleep! I have ocassionaly had sleep apnia but still the dream was nothing like this!!! Its still as fresh in my memory as the night it happened!!! I sort of get the smell when I get the uneasy feeling but the uneasy feeling always comes first! Its horrid!!!
I have only just found this site and am not sure how to go about putting some positive vibes back into the room and would be greatful of any help and ideas there! My current partner of 5yrs also still even now feels uncomfortable in this room! It always seems worse the first 12mnths of a new relationship and then seems to calm down!!! It know it sounds mad but its almost in a way as if it disapproves of another male in my life or is it the room???? [Sad]
Our house is only two bedrooms and believe me I wish it was more, I would never dream of putting my son into this room!! Also since March this year and introducing a second dog it does seem to have calmed down!! Our other dog is a female and always sleeps in her bed our new male sleeps under the bed beneath me always!! I just would like some ideas to stop it kicking up again

Lisa, I would recomend that you do what ever ritual that is closest to your own religious beliefs. I personally smudge with sage. I find it very relaxing and helpful. If you look in the Native American forum, Tipiflaps has written down his smudge ritual. Everybody does it differently, it's all about intent. I also burn incense, I just pick the one I like and makes me happy. I should also say that this is about creating positive emotions, I'm not talking about getting rid of the spirit. You would need a very experienced person for that and I wouldn't recomend challenging the spirit without experienced (which I am not) help. I'm sure that others here can give you more ideas. While you go about whatever ritual you choose make sure you keep a little compassion for this spirit. Whatever he was in life he is now lost and confused. The things that have happened doesn't necisarrily mean he's evil. It's rather like seeing a bum on the street, you certainly wouldn't envite him into your house and you might not want him hanging around but you do have compassion for what they have become and sympathy for what made them that way.

I'm glad that things have settled down a bit for you. Your dogs must be your little protectors. [Smile]

Yikes!!! Very scary huh? I'm certainly not discounting your psychic visit, but another explanation could be "sleep paralysis" or "old hags phenomena". I have had this only a couple times in my life and it is not only scary beyond words, it seems as real as life itself!

Here is a link you might want to check out and see if you find any similarities. Scroll down a bit and you will find some very good links to check out on the subject! Good luck and I hope whatever it was, it doesn't happen again. (((Hugs)))

Hi Lisa,
That dream you had seems a little more realistic than a dream. Whatever attacked you in your dream, I think is also present in your waking world. The fact you had a psychic in the house and she sensed a male present. Oh by the way, did you tell her about the dream you had? (I'm always careful with the psychic realm and I don't know if she charged for money or if she was a friend etc).
What I find really unusual is that whatever you could smell in your dream came out into your consciousness when you awoke and also the vomiting. Whatever happened in that dream had really nasty side effects and I mean really nasty because the dream has to be very powerful for it to have such a lasting impression like that.
I don't know your faith, but here's what the smell could be coming from (according to mine).
Quite often demons emit a terrible stench and you may not always see them, but you can smell their presence. This thing that attacked you clearly wasn't of a good nature and whether dreaming or awake when it happened, I believe that sometimes our thoughts (and our dreams) are penetrated by evil. Therefore, if it's planted in us and isn't our own, it cannot be a mere dream.
What I'm saying is the only reason it came across as a dream is because when it happened you were asleep at the time and due to the nature of it, being subconscious or supernatural, that's a good way for whatever attacked you in your sleep to keep you believing that it's all in your mind.
I hope that whatever method you may take to get rid of this entity, that it may work, since it's obviously malicious.

How awful! I've got to agree with the others, whatever this thing is, it isn't good. I think what you experienced rather than a "dream" could fall under the category of psychic attack.
By all means, smudge the room, have a priest of some sort do a general blessing, do whatever you feel comfortable with, but do something! This sounds like it is nothing to mess with. If these suggestions don't work, I'd call in a professional of some sort. Let us know how this goes! What a strain you have lived under!

(((Lisa))) What a horrible experience!! Thank you for sharing it with us and I'm glad you did!

I've had 'the dark man' show up while I'm in a state of sleep paralysis, but I've never been attacked like that. As someone else said, I have to wonder if there really isn't something more to the whole sleep paralysis thing besides the brain just 'playing tricks' on us. Is it possible the spirits are somehow able to manipulate us during our sleep? Hard to say. Whatever the cause, it's very frightening.

I agree that this presence is also in your waking world, but personally, I hesitate to label it a demon or evil without a lot more investigation into this. Spirits can often be accompanied by a smell, too - sometimes really repugnant. Does this particular unclean body smell remind you of anything in your past? A person? An event, an occurance... anything. Does it trigger a memory for you (other than the horrible dream)? Do you only smell this when you're alone? Has your partner ever smelled it? Is it only in your bedroom?

I'm no expert either, but I agree - I think you should smudge (pay particular attention to the wall behind the headboard)!! It's actually very simple to do. Positive energy needs to be put back into the environment. Smudge with sage & cedar, burn incense, burn candles (white or black are good).
Think positive thoughts. The stronger you are mentally, the less powerful this 'thing' will be. When the attack happened (in the dream), do you recall what was going on in your life at the time? Were you depressed or was there strife for some reason? Just something to think about.

Keep us posted!

Hi Lisa,

I'm curious if you know anything about the history of your house? Who owned it before you-were there ever any "bad" relationships in the house? A possessive or lonely male?

Maybe there was a tragic relationship in your house and the house, and your room in particular, still contains the "psychic vibrations" of this relationship.

There is a house in my parent's neighborhood that seems to be bad for marriages (my parent's have lived in the neighborhood for over 50 years and it's always been like this). All the couples who live in the house get divorced. One couple I remember from my childhood seemed very happy when they moved in, within a few years they had a nasty divorce and both moved out. I heard they got remarried a few years later.

hi ~! im sorry to hear that you've had such a bad experience...i have had many of them myself, and in my own case they were definitely demons...i dont know what the fact is in your case, but the odor thing really sticks out to me...demons ALWAYS carry a terrible odor...two of my friends, who were involved in a very destructive, and almost deadly demonic attack had the same thing happen, as far as odor, but it happened while awake, and they were also sickened to the point of throwing up, and having personal effects tainted with the odor...it would not go away and the items had to be burned....of the positive spirits i have met thus far, they all pretty much seem to like more fragrant scents, flowers and such...if this is a demon you are dealing with, the advice given thus far is very good advice...they do not like candles, and i have found, tho this sounds strange, that placing fishooks at the base of the candle where the wax will melt over them can do much to clear your "space" of negative entities...you may want to give this a try, tho if you do, PLEASE be careful not to prick yourself or anyone else [Embarrassed] )
i also know that they do not like positive emotions and mental states....if one is able to keep calm, no matter what, and emit waves of love, or any blessings that you may have on your own spiritual path can often send them away...tho it doesnt work immediately...they try to challenge it and do things to make a person upset.....one who is able to be strong, and stay calm in the face of the attack, will find that they are much more in control of the situation than they may think...i wish you love, and success in whatever course you choose to pursue this matter.
