Has anyone seen The Ring.
I didn't really plan on seeing it but due to circumstances I went to the movies and decided it was the best one to see. Beside I thought it would be a really good movie.
I was dissappointed.
Parts were really scary. But mostly due to the effects. The acting was good but not great. It was a decent mystery but it got contrived.
I'd say this is a one step up from a teenage scary flick. Better put together but not nearly as sophisticated as The Sixth Sense or even Stir of Echos.
It could have been much better. And it could have been much worse. Not as good as the adverts say though. I wasn't creeped out much by it.

I went to see this on Sunday and had the same reaction you did Nakis. It was okay but not great. What annoyed me the most was what in the heck was the deal with that child??? It makes me insane when they don't explain stuff like that. It seemed rather important to the story line to me.

i think you guys saw the bumped up hollywood version of the original. i watched the original japanese version last night and it was very scary in a blair witch psychological way. The child (in the orig.) was the daughter of the reporter who watched the tape, and later the child took the tape when they went away and watched it himself. So after that she realised she had to save herself, her husband and her child.
So what happens in the not original one?

Another movie that seems to be "over-hyped". I think I'll wait till it's out on DVD.....then give my opinion. I think after the New Year I'll have a movie review section on my site. All are welcome to contribute!!!!

Its a small difference but the original is just 'Ring' wheras the new one is 'THe Ring'.
i think its a shame when great films are ruined by meagre remakes
