Just wondering how many of you believe in guardian angels and have had personal experiences with one?

I have always believed in them myself. I don't think anything is coincidence in our lives either. I think everything that happens in our lives is for a reason and when we mess up, we have our own personal angel to get us out of those sticky jams.....good thing for me [Cool]

There was one particular time when I saw my daughter's at work. I swear this one could have been put in the Guiness Book Of World Records! She was about 2 or 3 and we lived in our first apartment. We had these huge sliding picture windows in our livingroom and on the floor beneath them was a radiator that ran along the whole wall. Jennifer loved it because it stuck out from the wall and she could step up on it and peep out the window.

One evening right at dusk, she had been looking out the window. As she stepped down and turned to walk away, out of nowhere and like in slow motion, her father and I watched one of the huge panes of glass start falling from the frame and straight down on her. I remember screaming, my husband jumping up and then we both watched the window be lifted over her and shatter on the floor about 2 feet in front of her. Had it landed on her, she would have been killed instantly. Unless you have experienced something like this, you can never understand or imagine how it feels. We both yelled at Jenny not to move because glass was shattered everywhere and she was barefooted. Then we both looked at each other and knew in that instant that an angel had been there for our baby and literally saved her life. If you would have seen where the window landed you'd understand what a miracle this was.

I know if we hadn't believed in angels before this, we certainly would have changed our minds!

Great story, Cindy! I firmly believe in guardian angels. In my early twenties, I went through a very traumatic event. I was laying in bed and my mother was sitting up with me. It was late at night and the room was pitch black. I had been praying silently, and when I opened my eyes, she commented, "Where are all these lights coming from?" There were columns of light, with what I would call "sparkly dust particles" filling that room. They stayed for several minutes and faded. There is not a doubt in my mind that an angelic being and maybe some of his friends came by that night to give comfort.
After they faded, a great sense of peace and calm came over me, and I knew I would be all right. I think they show up when we are in need.

I can't say that I've had any life affirming experiences like either of you( at least none that I can recall right now) but I DO believe in gaurdian angels. I know that they are everywhere both seen and unseen and by that I mean humans can also be angels in disguise. I'm thinking of the post from one of our members
(her name escapes me) where she was seen by two children (who'd just lost their mother in a horrible accident) as having a golden shimmer all around her as she held their dying mother.

Angels are everywhere, thank God! [Wink]

I am the one who was seen by those two children who saw me as having the golden shimmer and wings. Our creator put me there to help their mother cross over and to guide them and help themn not to be sad or afraid. I was there for a reason. Angels truly do walk the earth. The next time you're out going about your daily business, look into someone's eyes. You just might see and angel there. [Smile]

I believe that guardian angels may take on any form needed to accomplish their task at hand. That is a beautiful story that you told us Cindy! I remembered Mary's story right away... and I think that both of you had some awesome experiences with the strength, power and love that guardian angels are so often said to have.

Carrie, that sparkling dust you saw muct have been something from the spiritual realm, and if you were troubled that night, I would say that they must have been angels....

I had one experience when I was in my head-on collision that I have often wondered about. I was driving a 1976 Bronco, had two friends in the vehicle with me. The full-sized truck that hit us came together head-on, driver's side hitting the driver's side... not lined up for complete head-on. The truck hit, came up onto our hood, and I remember seeing this truck's oversized off-road tire hitting the windshield right in front of me. Then, the truck slid down my door, mashing it in against me.
The steering wheel, by all rights, should have impacted my chest.... but with what had to be extreme strength, I somehow managed to pull that steering wheel to the right of my body, and it ended up in my right groin area. In the process, I had a fracture dislocation of my right wrist. Even with my hand at an odd angle, I was able to turn off the air conditioner, because I was afraid of any sparking... and I knew that all 3 tanks were pretty much full of gas, and one was located just under me. I had also broken 4 ribs above and to the front of my armpit area. The window sill of the door was jammed up under my arm. I am still not sure how I ever managed to not have my arm cut off at the shoulder, with the other vehicle sliding down the door and caving it in like that... I think that I may have had some kind of protection that day, even though I was injured.

But, the absolutely the most awesome thing of all that happened was right after impact, two men showed up, and said they had been paramedics in Vietnam. One stayed with me, with his hand on my shoulder, while the other went to help my friends, who were also injured. There were cars going by, so they flagged down a motorist headed into a more populated area, and told him to call paramedics, and for them to send 2 squads and the firetrucks, because they would need them. The medical help and extrication we needed was there in about 10 minutes. One of them came to my side, and stayed there with his hand on my shoulder, even when they were using the jaws to extricate me. Without these 2 fellows, and their quick action to do the exact right things, we may have sat there for quite a time, before we got the help we needed. My friend had 14 broken ribs, and was going into congestive heart failure. She and I were both flown out via helicopter, while her daughter, the least injured, was transported via ground ambulance.

I never found out the names of these two guys, and to this day, I have often wondered if they might have been angels.... they were still there when the police arrived to write up the wreck, but the officers had no names, and remembered no one. We never got to thank them for what they did. Perhaps they were angels, after all? And, what kept me from having my chest crushed, or my arm amputated?? Perhaps only the angels know.

Wow wonderful stories Carrie & Mare! I agree with you Mare that angels take on any form needed to help us in our time of need! I think you certainly met yours!

How many times can we look back in our lives and right at that point where we might be facing death or simply don't know what we're going to do, someone or something intervenes in our lives and helps us through it!

Yes I believe that we all have angels watching over us, I know some one is watching over me.
I haven't saw any signs or felt any touches, nothing that great has ever happened to me. I have however had a couple of close calls in which I think greater powers had intervened.
After I divorced Maggie's dad, I started working in convience stores.
The first close call I had, I went in to work for my scheduled shift 3-12 & when I got there, the manager told me I had been transfered to another store & needed to report to work there that night. I went to work in the new store & got a call from the old one, the guy working the shift I would have been working had been robbed. He gave me a description of the guy & told me to watch out for him. The next night the robber showed up at my store.Had it not been for him pretending to use the phone outside the store which I knew was out of order & th pink bandana hanging out of his pocket (he had wore the bandana over his face the previous night) I would have gotten robbed too. I was on the phone with a friend of mine & told her to call the police before I hang up with her. He got away, but it was before he could do anything to me.
I had a similar incident where I had swapped shifts with another clerk so I could take Maggie to the dr. & the clerk working my shift was robbed with the gun stuck to his neck.
So I tink it's safe to say that I have an Angel.

I believe in guardian angels. All the times I missed being dead or dismembered are too great to recount here. My angel must be getting one heck of a workout.
But one thing I would like to impart is that though I've never seen her, during meditations sometimes I see her light. Coming from over my right shoulder from just behind me to the right the softest, warmest, most wonderful light blue light comes from there.
As a child, my mother had this hand mirror with a light blue translucent plastic handle. I used to love just looking at that mirror because the color meant warmth, joy, happiness and love to me. A memory I just couldn't quite remember but the feeling of it I could still recall. Whenever I see something light blue and translucent it still brings warmth and joy to my heart. Now that I know what it means I appreciate even more.
And everyone once in a while when I remember I say thanks. Thanks for everything she has done for me, being there, what she has left to do and putting up with me. I'm far from perfect.
