This disc has been out awhile now, well over a month, and I don't think I have stopped listening to it since I bought it! It's simply brilliant, quite possibly George's best music since "All Things Must Pass" In my opinion, it's a fitting farewell from a musical icon that was taken from us far too soon. [Sad]

The disc starts off with George saying, "Give me plenty of that guitar!" and that's just what we get throughout, lots of guitars and even some ukeleles! The opening track "Any Road" is very reminiscent of George's Travelling Wilbury days. The second song, "P2 Vatican Blues" is full of pure George Harrison humor. "I'm a pisces fish and the river flows through my soul" George sings on the album's third tune, "Pisces Fish" It's hard to listen to this song and not feel like George isn't in the room with you, it's haunting stuff! The fourth song, "Looking For My Life" I do love the electric guitar in this one! Good stuff! "Rising Sun" is a great song, with an amazing melody, once you hear it...it sticks in your head! "Marwa Blues" is an amazingly beatiful instrumental tune which shows off George's awesome guitar skills! Is that a little bit of "Strawberry Fields Forever" I hear at the end? Nice touch! "Stuck Inside A Cloud" Wonderful guitars on this haunting track. Brings a tear to my eye! "Run So Far" is my favorite song on the CD. It's such a gorgous little tune with an irresistably catchy melody. Just lovely!! "Never Get Over You" is a classic example of how cleverly George was able to mix guitar and vocals. Fairly slow paced, but spiced up with beautiful slide-guitar work. "Between The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" is another example of an impossibly catchy tune! Just George and his ukelele! Fun stuff! The album's eleventh song is George Harrison as you've never heard him before! "Rocking Chair in Hawaii" is a blues tinged track, and the opening sort of reminds me of Hank Williams Sr's, "Lone Gone Lonesome Blues" Not what you'd expect on a George Harrison album, it's still fun. The last track, "Brainwashed" is probably my least favorite on the CD. Nothing really wrong with it, per-se...it just doesn't do it for me. Perhaps it's just too religious for this guy.

So! I highly recommend this CD for anyone with even a passing interest in George Harrison or the Beatles. Pour a glass of wine, plop down into your favorite chair, crack open a copy of "I, Me, Mine" and just relax and be taken away.

Thank you, George!!

Thanks for filling us in, Scott! I think you should be writing music reviews! [Razz]

George was quite into bagism[/URL] as I recall. (As was John Lennon, etc.) Could that be why 'Brainwashed' seemed so religious?
