We kicked off our Holiday celebrations by going to see Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers. Awesome! My husband, daughter, father-in-law, and future son-in-law and I went together to see it and we all came away surprised how good it is. Ian Mckellan (Gandalf) happened to be in the Vancouver area, and the first night it opened he went to one of the theatres and welcomed everyone before the film started. Can you imagine how exciting that was for his fans! I am one, and darn I wish I had been there that night! Go see it!

I'll have to go see it. I haven't seen the first one yet either so I'll have to rent that one. I've heard nothing but great reviews of 'Two Toweres'.

My husband is a huge fan -- I've got to admit the first movie got me hooked. We're going after Christmas to see it!

I went to see this tonight and even though I haven't seen the first one I just loved it!!! I will have to sit down and watch the first one to figure out what the heck was going on lol. My only complaint is after 3 1/2 hours my bum was numb!!! [Laughing]

I'm a big fan. Read the books eons ago.
The first movie was fantastic. The second movie was fantastic too. Just about the best adaptation from a book to a movie without the book being a play.
Even if you aren't a fan of Tolkien. Seeing the movies just for the adventure and eye candy is all the worthwhile.

I still haven't seen Two Towers but last week I saw The Fellowship of the Ring and I loved it. Then because I was too impatient to wait for Two Towers to come out on DVD I had to read the the whole book to see how it ended. Now I can say that I've made my decision, I want to be an elf. I have the hair (mostly) and all I need is the magic and the bow and arrow and the pointy ears. Especially the pointy ears. Hmmmmm, I wonder where I can get them. Of course I'll have to learn the elven lanuage too, maybe the magic comes with that.

I can't wait until the Two Towers is on DVD so I can see that one too.

Renee, I am sure you will be a lovely elf! I have loved both movies, and I'm not even a huge Tolkien fan like hubby. I don't know if I want to be an elf, but I sure would like to see New Zealand -- breathtaking scenery!

I'm sure you can get some pointy ears at the next star trek convention.

I might have to do that because I keep looking in the mirror and my ears aren't getting any pointier. Maybe it just takes a while. [Big Grin] Yup, I bet it does, maybe when I learn the elven language they'll get pointy and all the other stuff.

Awsome, another elf. We can be The Order of the Elves. You do know that Tolkien did actually create the elven language don't you. I think that my book give's you some of the basics. =)

They sure are missing a marketing opportunity here: Learn elfin in 10 easy lessons - 10 tapes mailed and charged to your credit card once a month for 10 months at $15 a pop. Where is Time Life when you want them?
