Wouldn't you think they would try to communicate better? I mean, at my house they could easily pick up a pencil and write a message or just talk plainly. You always get bits and pieces you have to put together.
One example, the week leading up to October 16,2002. I work night shift and I try to get a little nap before going in to work. Well, every night at around 8:45pm I would get woke up. Not by the alarm, but by the atmosphere in the room changing, and you could hear people talking but they sounded like they were very far away. The atmosphere was like the radio was on but you couldn't hear it. I know this sounds weird. But if you walked into a room and the radio or tv was on but there was no sound, could you tell that it was on? That is how this was. Every night. Then on October 16 my sister in law came over to tell me my oldest brother had been found dead. I know I was being forewarned, but couldn't they have done a little better job than that so that I could have understood them?

First my condolences, I am sorry to hear about our loss.

I agree with you, why is it so hard for the those on the other side to communicate. My best theory is the energy it requires. It is frustrating when the sounds are just outside the range of comprehension of our hearing abilities. Your house appears to be a very busy place, and an awesome opportunity to learn from those that haunt it.

I know that sounded a little childish but I get so frustrated sometimes. I want to talk to them so bad.

I've heard these "Spirit voices" too in the house I used to live in. Yes it was muffled...like people talking behind a thick wall..I could understand the conversational tone of two male voices, but no words were at all discernable. If you think about it, our physical world and the other dimensional planes are separated...there is a wall there, but sometimes it gets thin enough for us and them to be aware of each other. any kind of physical manifestation of the spiritual requires a great deal of energy as well as receptivity on our part, too. I communicate best with spirits in the dream-state when my mind is open and also in psychic "Images", "Visions" and "Messages"...which are like thoughts just popping in my head from somewhere else.

Hearing these things with your physical ears and seeing them with your eyes is difficult because spirits are not physical...the communication is weak between the two. Look more to mental images..this is where they are able to communicate best with us.

I know how frustrating this is also because I hear those muffled voices, but can never make out anything specific. I also believe I have had loved ones try to communicate with me, but have yet to figure out what it is they are trying to say.

Suzy, I'm also wondering if that week when you kept getting woke up by the atmosphere, if it was more of a psychic experience rather than a ghost or spirit trying to forwarn you. It's just a thought, but I have heard people who are psychic describe those kinds of feelings in the air when something is about to happen.

I was always very connected to my grandfather on my mother's side. He visited me just before he passed or as he was passing away. I lived in Austin, Texas and he was in a hospital in New York area. I awoke and saw a mist with him in the mist at the foot of the bed we locked eyes I felt a warm embrace actually warm all over and I had peace with him passing because there was a closure between us. I am not the only family member he visited that nite.

I feel it is like radio waves you need to tune it in (and tune out the bad waves as well)

I believe too that it requires a great deal of energy for them to 'get through', as well as what Pretzel said about it depending on our receptivity.

Thanks for being able to shed light on it. I knew he was going to die, the doctors said he could continue for a while longer- My mother and I knew that night that we "felt" he was going. The strange thing is that within a couple of minutes of the visit we all reported about the same time from start to finish. Is this common?

There is abseloutly no proof on why they can't communitcate better. It could be images from heaven, but pretty much all we know is that, THEY DO EXSIST. We can't say anything else. There is some mystery of them that they cannot communicate, we will probebly never know. Why, only if u die u will know what your spirit will do, I know theres an african? religion where they believe theres a spirit world and the real word, yet they just can't see each other that planily, because, well, two seperate worlds in one, probebly only seperated by imaginary forces, life and death. I mean, this actually may be very well true.

Who knows, they may be actually too scared to pick up a pen and write something down, or they simply CANNOT do it. Its thats simple.

That confirms what we all thought.

This is a great question! My opinion on why they can't communicate better is multi-faceted. I think that you need a lot of things to occur in order to communicate (2 way). One, you have to be receptive and accept the fact that you are receiving a message. Many times we get them and shake them off subconciously. Then, I believe that it does take a tremendous amount of energy for a spirit to make a physcial sound or movement. Perhaps why they prefer to do so more psychcially or in dreams. Then, I believe that spirits exist in a different physical world than we do. That is to say perhaps a different frequency or whatever you call it. Where the laws of physics as we know it are different. So how they can communicate is not as straightforward as we think it should be. Not to mention that many spirits are confused about the time and place they exist in if they are "stuck" here.

So why do mediums such as John Edward communicate very freely with them? First of all these mediums are very sensitive to the spirit world. And it seems to me that all of the spirits they contact have passed over and know they have passed. They want contact as much as living person. But even they can't get through without some help through the medium. We will never know for sure until our time comes I guess.

I was in a car accident last October 19.
I was supposed to die.
I had cerebral spinal fluid coming out of my nose, tear ducts, and ears. Needless to say, it was nasty.
I had what I believe to be a neardeath experience.
I don't want to get into the details right now,(will post later) but I believe I've learned some things from it.
I went thru a transformation. On the other side I could feel and touch everything including myself.
I talked to a man and later a woman. All in all it took what felt like about an hour and a half.
I was explained alot of things wich I will post later, but the thing that stuck out to me was my consciousness. It was expanded. I was really focused.
Comparing it to this reality,I experience today
with a very narrow point of view.
My thoughts and awareness are trapped by my experiences and memories. Oher than what I know know to be different, I am for the most part what I've been, nothing more.
My spirituality has increased ten fold but it gets filtered thru my phisical brain. Very hard to describe.
Anyways....as I was coming out of my 4 day coma this is what I experienced wich might shed some light on this subjrct of communication from ghosts...
I was laying there and I opened my eyes and saw that to the right of me there was a nurse sitting there in a chair looking right at me.
She was reading a magazine and looked at me from time to time.
I faded in and out of conciousness....it took me what seemed like 2-3 hours before She realized I was awake.
So there I was coming and going. I remember that during this period I would strugle to get up, but my legs were frozen. The best I could do was to sit up.
I remember thinking....why is this lady sitting here looking at me? It was unnerving as her presence to me at times was very intense.
I waved to her a couple of times and after a while I managed to sit up and I told her I was ok.
There was no reply.
However, sometimes when I attempted to scream or I became agitated at the fact that I could not communicate, she would suddenly jerk and stare in my direction. I think this was my soul or etheric body at this point.
I became very exausted, as the task of communication drained me. I descided that I would rest untill I could muster some strenght, then I would give this lady a piece of my mind for tormenting me so.
I lay back down and fell into what seemed like a sleep.
Next thing I know I awoke with a groan and she was there! She stood up and called for the others. I was swarmed. They were all glad I was awake.
The intersting point I'd like to make is that if I was dreaming prior to this, the woman had the same face, and the room I was now awake in, was identical!
I truly believe that I left my body! At least from the belly up. It was like I had an anchor and could not get past this point.

Anyways.....I can see how if I was in my other form, It would be near impossible for me to comunicate as it took alot of energy.
I can imagine how frustrated ghosts must feel...the ones that aren't a play back type.

I talked to the nurse about seeing her, and she told me that it wasn't the first time she has been told similar accounts.

I did not ask the doctor anything as I was dealing with alot of emotions at the time and was still trying to sort myself out from the head injury.
He did however visit me later on.
He asked me if I was a religious man.
He said that what had accurred in his opinion was a miracle.
As you know I had cerebral spinal fliud coming out of my nose ears and eyes.
They were expecting to find cerebral edemas and actual physical damage.
PET scans and CAT scans as well as EEG's revieled no anomolies.
He said that there was no damage whatsoever and that some of them were at odds as to what that fluid was. Fluids is not seen unless you crack your skull.
No cracks were found.
He said he has seen cerebral spinal fluid before and believes that it was.
You can certainly use these on your site...I put them hear that they may help someone somehow.
On my neardeath experience, I will have to think on the matter seriously, as I do not wish to impose a belief system on anyone, nor wish to effect their path in a negative way.
I broke my phemur, and ripped my left foot almost completely off.
The steering wheel column was bent in a U shape towards the dash.
My face was imprinted on the front window.
I have no facial scarring whatever except for a slight scar under my lower lip where my tooth cut thru. I still got the tooth undamadged.
The wreckers could not believe how the steering column was bent in that way. They said you would need at least an 800lbs mass at that speed to bend it like that.
I weighed 220lbs at the time. (I work out).
The doctor also stated that I did not need a blood transfusion, and my leg DID NOT bleed, even though it was detached. He said by the time I was on the table I had cuagulated. He has never seen it to this extent.

I have some hardware on my ankle and femur. It will be removed hopefully this march.
I am back at work, fully, like nothing happened.
To me, God saved my life.

What I have to say pretty much mirrors what everyone has said.
To communicate on our level of perception is difficult and takes lots of energy for ghosties. Mental communication is much easier for them but we have to be receptive to it. All my encounters were when I was either in a meditative state or hypnogogic(near sleep) or in a sleep state.
It helps to meet them halfway there.
