I've been sensitive all my life. from a young age I could go into a place and FEEL things..I had dreams also. I never really worried about it because it was just "Me", but I didn't know what it was. Generally "Sensitives" also are able to pick up on things from the living, as well. You are more in-tune to what people are feeling, their true personalities, ect. I think many of us get these feelings, but tell ourselves it's "Just our immagination"..our logical mind will automatically try to block it off. The best thing you can do to develop your senses is to trust them..listen to your instincts on things. You will be amazed at how much more you will pick up on and feel when you start trusting your abilities. "Go with the flow".
As far as communicating with spirits...forget having a speaking conversation with them...they communicate with you through your mind by giving you images and sometimes you will even get a thought pop into your head ; "We know you can hear us!" or "We know you're here!". You don't hear it with your ears, you hear it with your spirit/mind. They might give you a vision of a place or a person..that's their communication, too. You might feel terrible sadness or even joy..sometimes fear. These are all ways that spirit energies communicate with us, so if you mark these things off as "Immagination", you are shutting down your lines of communication. Trust what you sense and feel.
Another thing you can do is be aware of your peripheral vision..seeing out of the corner of your eye..this is where we sense movement and this is where we are able to see spirit energies by awareness of subtle movement..like a shadow streaking by.
The last thing I will say is that whether spirits choose to communicate with us or not is up to them. No matter how sensitive you are, they might not communicate with you. They will either come to you or not. You might sense their presence and that will be all. Remember to always be respectful of the spirit world and they will likely be more comfortable in communicating with you.
Good luck to you!
