Forums · Haunted War Graveyard

Here in Marianna where I live there was a battle during the Civil War involving soldiers and indians...Well, there is an old church in down town Marianna called Saint Lukes Epispical Church it is not the original bulding but a rebuild after the original burned down during the battle! The graveyard that surrounds the church is the site of the fallen soliders who were buried there! There have been many sitings of soldier spirits in the area after night fall! People say that they are wandering as if they are trying to find their way home! I myself have never seen them but I have been to the cemetary after dark and you get an unwanted feeling as you walk through...do you think the soldiers are trying to tell us something with their sightings? If I happen to run across some information on the church I will be glad to post a link! It is just eerie to know something that close to home is watching you!

Hmmm... it's hard to say if they are trying to convey something with the sightings. It could just simply be that some people can see them and others cannot. The feeling of being unwanted may stem from the emotion at the site.... I think that is probably some highly charged atmosphere there, with all that's happened!

I'd love to see any links you might find. [Smile]

I agree with Kell. Given the violent way in which these folks passed on would lead to some restless spirits. I'm sure for many, their last thoughts were of home and loved ones, so some of those emotions are probably replayed at that site.
Sounds like an interesting place!
