Here is another one [Smile] .
My family and I lived in 2742 Argyle rd in Mississauga, Ontario.
This is the same place I talked about in my "It follwed me home?" account.
South of the building there is a creek.
Going south past the creek is Floradale Public School. My younger brother attended school there from grade 3-6.
I had friends on Paisley rd and crossed this creek regurlarly.
I remember that I always felt spooked when walking thru a particular clearing.
Not so much if I followed the creek. I have earned many a happy memories playing there with my friends.
The path to Floradale Public School is west of the creek.
It is a big clearing.
When it was getting dark in the evenings, I would go the long way by the creek instead of crossing this clearing. You would think it to be spookier in the creek, instead of a clearing.
On with the story.....
On numerous occasions, something has tapped me on the shoulder or upper back.
I have even walked it with a friend and he thought I threw a pebble at him. He got tapped on the nogin.
Most of the time, regardless of the time of day, many precenses are felt there. I have run from them in the past. They start at me once I get about halfway into the clearing. There is NOOOO WAAAYYY that I went thru there at night! I should try it now that I'm 35, maybe go there with a tape recorder? My brother has a video camera.
If I remember correctly though, it would be extremely difficult to remain there once it starts, as it gets VERY intence. It got so bad in the past that I would litteraly almost start shaking.
On one particular day,I was walking home from a friends, when I noticed it had gotten dark.
What was I thinking? I swore to myself never to put myself in this perdicament!
And yes, I was standing right in the center of the clearing!
Was I tricked?
I remember thinking to myself..."ok, take it easy, you don't want to panic here. There are no such things as ghosts. You are just gonna spook yourself into a frenzy and have a stroke if you're not careful!"--Hah hah!
I started to walk forwards trying to imitate a confident swagger, when a series of gusts of wind swirld around me. They came mostly from behind me, some from the right and left, but they all converged on me.
"OK", I thought, "nothin' to worry about here....just the wind...".
It seemed that time slowed to a crawl.
The clearing went silent.
There was no longer any wind or breeze.
The hair on the back of my neck stood up.
I got a cold sweat.
Ok, I was in trouble now....
It felt like a time warp or something, it was like I time had stopped.
To my rear and to the right I saw what looked like men riding horses and to my rear and left it looked like people running at me.
This was similar but not identical to the apparition I witnessed at Fort Erie. In the sence that they were super imposed onto the background as if they were projected on glass pannels.
These were harder to discern, I could barely make them out. They were barely visible to me and would flicker in and out of view.
There were no sounds, even when I ran!
I ran home sooooo fast! ---Hah hah!

It's worth mentioning that my brother and I many years later when the topic of ghosts came up, he mentioned about the path to the school.
He said that he always ran past it as fast as he could, and he's NEVER been there when it got dark.
We had never discussed this before, so there was no way anything was suggested.
He had kept it silent as he thought people would think him crazy.

I found out later on from someone that there used to be an old indian burial ground there. The community had been built over it.
People in the suburb complexes have complained of ghosts near that area.
I would have to research this, but I think it would take alot of time. To me it's of no importance since I know what I experienced.
Even if there is no burial ground, I don't care.
I still don't want to go there as it is a very unpleasant area.

Hope you enjoyed a TRUE account!

Creepy creek! [Eek! 2] The time warp thing is a strange, isn't it? I wonder if there were any battles fought on that land....

I'll add this one to the stories page too. [Wink]

Marcelo, have you ever been to the Cherry Hill House Restaurant in Mississauga?

Wow now that is spooky! It would be interesting to try for some EVPs or take some photographs there at night. I would have certainly wet myself in that situation as a child. I wonder how one could find out if there was indeed a burial ground there.

I am going to the Cherry Hill House Restaurant in Mississauga soon.
I'll go eat something there and try to relax to see what I feel.
It's should be fun(and scary!).
I am stationed in Trenton Ontario right now, so it's a 3 hr drive to get there. However, all my family is there, so when I go visit, I'll stop by and eat there.
As for the creek I am planning to go with my brother, he has a digital camera/recorder.
I don't know if I should take a tape recorder as the noise from our walking and clothing may be too loud.
Should I leave it there and come back for it later?

P.S.
I don't know if my brother will go with me, as he is frightened to death of that place.

If I get some film, I'll post it here.

My brother responded by e-mail-

I don't know about that. I always had strange feelings and I always tried
my absolute best to subdue, hide, and rationalize the @#$% out of things
to stop them. If I really 'open' myself I can probably tell you a lot of
stuff about given places, etc. I refuse to do that posibility because it
opens a can of worms. I haven't done stuff like that since I was a kid. I
don't even know if its real. I think it's just overactive imagination.

As for the forest I remember feeling some messed up things there for sure.
There was one area, the old garage that every time I @#$%ing went there I
had to take a sh*t afterwords. Kind of stupid and odd but I noticed that.
Which is odd. I don't like to think about these sorts of things because
it kind of starts to open my awareness and I don't like that.... honestly.

Back to the forest... it's not there any more. It was destroyed when I was
in sixth grade. There is a housing development there. I guess you forgot
about that. I can go with you to what is there now. I am sure if something
really is there existing structures should not matter.

****! [Sad] I was hoping to take pics there.
Well, I'll take some anyways, as for EVP's what do you people suggest? There may be traffic noises there if there are townhouses there now.

Not to worry, I will take pics at the geographical site regardless. And I will attempt to hid a recorder by a bush or something. [Toothy Grin]

He also sent me this afterwards.....

Yeah. I often had a sense of panic when I went through that forest. I
always had the feeling that I was watched or that I was being chased and
the feeling of dred and danger was always pretty intense. I did many times
go into a panic mode and just ran the **** out of there and for sure I
never went through there in the night. I don't recall seeing anything. I
never really see anything, I just feel a lot of stuff which is sometimes
just as intense as seeing things or worse.

I don't know about the Indian burial ground or anything like that. Homes
were built there. But like I said, I remember whenever I went to the
abandond garage I always had to take a sh*t afterwards. It took me a while
to notice it since it is normal to take a poop but after a while I noticed
that I had to take a poop 100% of the times I went there. I know it sounds
stupid. You should ask those ghost guys if they have heard anything like
this before.

Man!!!!----I forgot about that garage!
I am taking pics of that for sure!
OOOHHH can't wait. I just KNOW there's something there!
I have seen something staring out of the windows at me....---HAHAAA--
