This is disturbing....but I've often thought...
When people die they often claim of seeing a tunnel and/or travelling towards a bright light.
We see it in movies and writings that people should probably go towards the bright light, because it is god or heaven.

Ever stop to think what that light is?
Lucifer is latin for THE GOD OF LIGHT/ANGEL OF LIGHT. [Shock]
After all he is the deceiver!
What a nasty trick to play on us in the end eh? [Sad]
Look it up and you will find this to be true! [Eek!]

---Just food for thought--- Hee heeh...

This is in no way ment to persuade anyone to do the opposite. Meant for discussion and entertainment only. Just a frightful topic. [Smile]

Hmm never thought about that before. Many people seem to associate "light" with all that is good and happy whereas "darkness" seems to be associated with bad/evil.

You have to remember along with passing through the tunnel of bright light, people often experience a wonderful sense of peace, well-being, and overwhelming love, along with seeing passed loved ones waiting to greet them.

I think for those who believe in heaven and hell, they cannot imagine all these things being related to hell, which for some is considered a place of eternal punishment.

Very interesting topic!

Indeed that would be a nasty trick at the end. [Shock] But some believe that there is not "heaven" or "h e l l" but the one you make yourself. The afterlife is the same for all of us and we make it what we want. That even the most evil person walks beside the most pure because we are put her on earth to learn a lesson. To experience everything. I don't doubt that true evil exists. But I have to wonder if Heaven or the other place exist as we mortals believe?

Marcelo,

Most people still believe it's either your neurons firing erratically 'at the end' or that you are in fact going down the tunnel to reach heaven (where the light is).

However, the theory you pointed out is one I have known about for a long time.

After all the road paved with truth is very narrow, yet the road paved with lies is wide. So how many people are going to see heaven and how many people will see hell?

I don't think all these NDE's are all the people going to heaven. I'm not a doomsdayer, but I'm a realist in terms of god/death/hell etc.

Yes, I agree with you.

I posted it before but I had an NDE last year Oct 19th. Bad car accident.
I didn't see the light like people say they see.
My experience was different. No relatives waited for me on the other side...
I was extremely elated and happy though....FREE AT LAST! [Colored Smiley]
I can still remember it quite vividly.
I am not posting it here yet as I haven't figured it out if I should tell people about it. I wouldn't want to steer anyone from their path. It is not for me to say.
Each one of us has a different journey.
The one thing I CAN say, is that I was finally at peace and had serenety, and felt alot of love and warmth.
That is all... can't say anymore for now.
In my opinion....if I got the jist of it...
Everyone is in for a BIG surprise! A good one! [Cool]

Don't worry...Be HAPPY! [Toothy Grin]

Marcelo,

I would be very interested to read about your NDE experience. I think a place like SpiritKeep is the perfect forum to share such experiences. We are open minded people here, otherwise we wouldn't be visiting a place like this. Right? I think one should be able to post their experiences and theories with the thought that others will read and believe what they want to. It's all a matter of what you are comfortable with.

I saw something on television a while back, interviewing a fellow that had a very unusual NDE. The gentleman described himself prior to his experience as being a tad on the nasty side -- very controlling of his family, harsh, just generally not a joy to be around.
Seems he and his wife had been on vacation when he had a heart attack or some sort of major but very sudden illness. Anyway, he described being out of his body, like the typical NDE story starts out; however, he said that soon, people he thought were hospital staff came for him, leading him to what he thought was a medical proceedure. He then felt that they were demons, ripping him to shreds, and attacking him until he repented of his former ways and called out to God for forgiveness and help. At that point, according to him, he felt the calmness and embracing love that other NDE folks report, upon which he was returned to his body.
I believe the segment was on Unsolved Mysteries. They interviewed the fellow's family who said there had indeed been a change in him for the good since his experience.
I'm not sure if I believe in the conventional portrayal of hell, but I do think that folks have to answer for their deeds in the afterlife. Either way, this guy had an interesting perspective!

NDEs. Always a good subject for controversy.

I've never had one.

In one psychic experience (I was awake) I went to a mountain top and met up with a bunch of friends I didn't remember. It was like coming home to friends you've had for ever and ever, completely accepting, without judgement, and happy as all heck to see me again. I felt bad I couldn't remember who they were but it was great to see them again (in the feeling).

Was that a fantasy?
Firing neurons?
Total imagination?

Lucifer was called Morningstar too. Beloved of God.

I can't imagine to understand why one of the closest beings to God would suddenly become evil.

Who can claim to know what exactly is in store for us. We only have faith for that.

That would be a real nasty trick to be able to fake those feelings and goodness.

I wonder like Kim does. Is everything we believe only because we believe it. Can the mind of mortal man understand what is really to come. Do we create things like heaven to make us feel better? Justify actions? Set boundries? The ultimate negative and positive reinforcements?

Just as long as when this body dies I get to be closer to God. It would be nice to have all kinds of other things. But just as long as at least some of this fog is removed and I get to experience my Creator more, I'm happy.

And if nothing exists after this, NDE's are just chemical reactions in the dying brain, then it really won't matter because you won't know you don't exist anymore.

Now don't go thinking of any of this before falling asleep tonight. [Shock]

My friend had a near death experiance once. He said that he didnt see any light but instead he saw things that were yet to happen. heard rock music and saw video games that hadnt come out. Saw the break up with his girlfriend and meeting with me. There were other things that are yet to happen that he saw but he cant remember what they were.
