I just made a discovery that is probably the most profound thing I have heard about Columbia's crew of seven. They are from SEVEN different faiths!!

Columbia's crew included one from each of the following faiths: Hindu, Roman Catholic, Jewish, Charismatic, Unitarian, Episcopalian and Baptist.

Could this be a message to all that we should come together, and work for the common good, regardless of our differences? In my mind, it is. This was an awesome message to mankind around the world.

What do the rest of you think?

That is interesting about the diversity of the crew. All seven of them were said to be wonderful, outstanding people.
I have had friends of various faiths, and some of no faith. Speaking for myself, I hope that I am able as a human being to respect and enjoy people for who they are, not what they are. I can respect any faith as long as they are peaceful, and are able to respect my right to worship and believe as I wish without infringement.
As a young person, I was not a fan of organized religion. Now that I have gotten older and I hope wiser, I realize that I can take what I know is good, what I know is right from several faiths. When asked about his religeous preference, Willie Nelson (considered a great philosopher here in Texas, right up there with Socrates [Laughing] ) replied that he was a CatholicBuddhistBaptist. I frankly think ole Willie was on to something. [Wink]

That is so amazing! Wow, what were the chances of that ever happening! I sure feel it was a sign!

To me, it's all about respect and acceptance. How much greater would our nation be if we could learn to overcome our own prejudices and simply love and accept each person as they are! Who ever said there was just one mold that we all have to fit into anyway??

Besides, imagine how boring it would be if we were all just a carbon copy of each other [Razz]
