This is very unscientific, but I am wondering if anyone has noticed an increase in paranormal activity in the past two weeks? I have posted this question on a few other boards, but maybe it could be a poll question. Anyway, there seems to have been a jump in activity in my house in the past couple of weeks. I haven't noticed it, but my daughter has noticed a lot of noisy after hours activity and shadows. What she has described is suggestive of poltergeist activity, doors closing, dishes rattling, and the sounds of chairs moving.
Any ideas?

I've actually noticed a decrease in activity here. But the weather has been really screwy, it's confused the heck out of living people so I can imagine it must bee confusing to our unseen guest as well. Now that the weather has settled down some I'll pay more attentions.

I missed this before! I've noticed more movement (both dark and white/light), but it has seemed to slow down over the last few days.

Kathleen - is your daughter still noticing things or has it settled?

Wow.. that's very weird.. I've never thought of it that way. I have experienced a substantial amount of paranormal activity in my home for the last few weeks. From someone/thing blowing in my ear to my 4 year old daughter telling me that someone keeps turning her light off and on! My husband has also seen a shadowy figure walk across our kitchen floor and he's a skeptic! We've always had activity in our home but lately it's gotten pretty active.

I'm wondering if maybe the weather has a lot to do with increases in activity - not so much as it effects the spirit world but in the fact that a lot of us are stuck at home or inside more with more time to pay attention to what is going on around us.

That is an interesting point, Connie. It could be that during storms and bad weather we are just around more to notice.
I have had a little more increased activity. I had attributed it to us being in the process of moving and some changes in the house, but it could very well be the odd weather playing a part. Just last night, hubby and I woke up about 2 am after hearing what sounded like a huge crash. We were sure we would find the ceiling caved in somewhere, or boxes of china toppled over. We both got up, frantic to investigate and found absolutely nothing out of place. I've had this to happen in another home, but not in this one. I just wish my ghost would find a way of getting my attention rather than jolting me out of my sleep! [Tease]

I was actually wondering if this huge threat of nuclear annihilation at the hands of man men may have been a trigger for a collection sigh both on both sides of the veil. The people that have been taking to the streets in protest certainly provide evidence that people around the world are focused on peace and acknowledging the possibility of war. How much collective emotion does it take to activate "poltergeist" type of activity in places where it generally has never occured? Power of thought, "stop fighting" from the other side? I am just trying to connect the dots.......

We had one night of very active effects in my usually quiet ghostly household a couple weeks ago. We were playing monopoly (like usual) and heard the farmilliar men's footsteps walking up and down the hall, as well as the tinkling of dog tags. These are two of the ghosts that we have in our house, and they are usually really quiet, I guess maybe fortunately for us.

Unfortunately, when we tried to use the ouija to contact any of the spirits in our house, it totally didn't work, and we were seriously bummed. Perhaps they didn't have enough energy gathered up to be able to communicate...I think we're trying again sometime later.

More info if the story develops..

I tried your link and it just brought me to a netster site. Your site didn't pull up.
Is your address right?

Are you from Connecticut? (assuming CT is for Connecticut).

Nakis, I've fixed her link so it should work now. [Wink]

We had a weird thing happen late the other night. I got done brushing my teeth and came back in to the TV room and no sooner than I sat down on the futon, I began to smell something like burnt olive oil, mixed in with what seemed like it *might* be burnt plastic or electrical, but the olive oil smell was the most predominent. It got stronger and stronger, but we couldn't figure out where it was coming from! It was so strong, I really thought maybe there was a fire somewhere in the house, but the smoke detector didn't pick up a thing. [Nerd] After several minutes, the smell dissapated, but we've still not been able to pinpoint it.

Carrie, the day afterward, we began to question - was it the smell of olive oil, or POT ROAST!? [Eek!] Seriously! [Laughing]
