I'm a professional writer with Lone Pine Publishing in Canada, the company responsible for Barbara Smith's Canadian Ghost Stories. I've written Ghost Stories of Indiana, Ghost Stories of Ohio and co-authored Ghost Stories of America.

My next assignment is Canada Volume II, specifically the prairies provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. If anyone would like to share their story for me for publication, I would greatly appreciate it.

Anonymity is guaranteed for those wishing it.

I can be reached at edrickthay@hotmail.com or 1-800-661-9017. Ask for Edrick.

Hello Mr. Thay, and welcome. =)

I'm sure our members will want to know a few things..... Is there any compensation involved for stories provided? Do they receive credit for their stories? Am I correct in assuming these should only be stories originating in Canada?

If you could just clarify a bit more for us, it would be greatly appreciated! =)

I agree with Kell in her questioning of compensation and credits.
You are going to being getting plenty of both once you publish the book.
It doesn't seem fair that people should share their stories with you for free then you get money for publishing them.

I believe I do own a copy of Ghosts in America. And I did enjoy the book. Thanks. Keep up the good work. =)

Good questions.

People will be credited for their accounts; I wouldn't presume to do so. As for financial compensation, money would only be involved if there costs associated with telling the story: ie- mailing papers and such.

And trust me... my financial compensation for the projects isn't anything to write home about.

I'm just a writer doing the best I can with my first professional writing job.

Oh yes- one last thing.

You'd get a copy of the book for your contributions.
