For about the past two weeks off and on, I've been feeling edgy and nervous and having this recurring dream of a really bad hostage situation. At times, I'm one of the hostages and at other times, I'm in the background, kinda like an observer. Somehow in the dream I know the whole thing is being broadcast on t.v. and I'm trying so hard to let my family know I'm okay. It is one of those dreams that is really hard to shake after you wake up.

It could be all the talk of war and uneasiness our country is feeling, but I was just wondering if anyone else is having similar feelings and/or dreams?

Wow Cindy that is disturbing. It very well could relate back to all this talk to war and uneasiness going on today. My only other thoughts is perhaps with all this talk you and the rest of us are feeling a bit like hostages to fear. The fear of the unknown I guess, we don't know quite what is going to happen and it's a scary thing.

My anxiety levels have been rollercoasting.
It went up dramatically for about a week before the shuttle disaster. It went up dramatically before the club disasters.
But also on a whole it's been going up on a deeper level.
I have a bad feeling about where the world is going. I've been having it for years now.
I'm not a doom and gloomer. I was raised during the cold war so I do try to steer away from that kind of thinking. It's just my intuition/psychic sense is telling me of hard times to come as long as we stay on this path.
There's not much I can do about so I try not to let it bother me. But I try to stay in touch with it.

I had a rather disturbing dream last night. The portents are not good so I don't want to post it.

Cindy, your dream could very well relate back to what's going on in the world right now. It may symbolize how helpless you feel about what is going on... there simply isn't anything one person can say or do to change the course of things - we're not at the controls. It's not a good feeling and I believe it raises our anxiety levels - I know it does me.

Hugs,
Kell

Yeah, I kinda think this dream of being a hostage is my inner feelings of helplessness at this whole mess we are living in right now.

Happy thoughts! We must keep our happy thoughts =)

I am VERY familiar with reoccuring dreams, but that is the topic for another post. I am going to take this from a psycological ( as opposed to a Psychic) perspective. I know that is not the stated purpose for this board, but I feel it necesary. I hope you all do not mind, especially given my newbie status.

I think, first of all, that the setting of a hostage situation is merely your mind finding a way to express itself in accordance with current events. The war has alot of people on edge and its constantly playing in the back of your mind somewhere, am I right?

I think this dream is in fact about your relationship with you family. Are U going through rough times at home? (Rhetorical question; not my buisness, just giving u something to consider).

You seem to be feeling like an outsider from your family unit. Your trying to attract the attention of the TV crews or whatnot is really U trying to attract their attention, love and support for whatever trying times you may or may not be going through.

On a slightly different variation, it could be that the hostage situation reflects on possible feelings that U are trapped by your family. They wont let U do what U want/need to do. Maybe there is some rather large decision that U have made that they are against and all U want is their support.

In regards to getting rid of this dream, I would say write it in a dream journal. Writing things such as this down quite often put things out in the light where it makes sense. Annalyze what is going on in your life at this time and see how it relates to your dreams.

I am not a psychologist and this is far from professional advice. It is from personal experience.

I do VERY MUCH believe in psychic dreams as I have had them quite a few times, but I feel this is not the case concerning your dream. the chances of U actually being in a Dog Day Afternoon scenario are almost nonexistent in this day and age unless U happen to live in the middle east or something. I am assuming U do not.

Sorry if I sound blunt here. Just doing my best to help. Please LMK what happens. I am sure everything will work out fine in the end. =)

LunaJ,

Although I do appreciate your input, I must tell you that you were way off base with regards to my family. We have a wonderful relationship and in the dream, I'm more concerned about my family and their feelings than myself.
