I was so glad that I came across this web site to know that there are others out there that see and hear and at times smell people who have gone on to continue their life after this one. I have since I was 5 years old been able to see 'ghosts' but it wasn't until 6 years ago when I had a near death experiance that I now hear them laughing and whispering before I only heard footsteps or saw objects move or even disappear. I have been told that I have physic abilitys but have always been cautious about telling anyone incase they thought I was mad. So you can imagine the relief I felt to read that there are other people who go through the same as me and it it will be nice to speak to you all without feeling judged. [Colored Smiley]

Well thank you for gracing our board Lyn! =)

Do you see them often? Or just occasionally? [Eek!]

We're all a little "mad" here. You're in the best of company.
Like Suzy said, pull up a chair, sit a spell and share some stories. [Big Grin]

Over the last 5 years I tend to see or hear them at least 2 to 3 times a week. Where ever I have lived its always been shared by at least one other person. Where I am living at the moment theres alittle boy called Michael he died in the 40s of breathing problems. He said that he had a bad cold and it made his chest hurt and he couldn't breath properly, hes about 10. I often hear him at night playing with a little girl about the same age. I think theres someone else with them because it sounds more than two laughing and playing.

Most of the people who visit have been ok and I've only ever felt threatened once that was in my old house and along with the old man who had died there while he was building in the garden there was a black shadow. There was always a nasty smell like burnt toast before he appeared and then he would just stand in the doorway. One night while I was doing some paperwork I smelt the toast smell it was very strong and there was a very cold patch on my right cheek. I looked over to the doorway and saw this black shadow only this time his eyes were showing. They were a really cold but bright blue and staring. That was the first time I had felt afraid he said nothing and did nothing but moved away almost as quitely as he'd arrived. To this day his eyes are imprinted on my mind I don't know who he was or what he wanted but I got the feeling he wasn't good though he never hurt me. I have heard other people talk of seeing black shadows but to date no one can explain who they are or why they come. [Shocked]

Hi Lyn! From what I've read and seen myself, these dark shadows that so many people encounter are another form of spirit energy -- some positive, some neutral, some negative. In one house I lived in, I would always see a shadowy figure sitting on an antique sofa. Nothing negative was ever felt there until you would stand in the doorway of the upstairs landing -- it always felt like someone was sneaking up behind you. Sounds like you have some great stories to tell! We look forward to hearing them! =)

Wow, Lyn... you have had some interesting experiences! That one with the burnt toast smell and the black figure was a scary one. It is good that you don't live in that house anymore. YIKES! That must have been a terrible feeling when you smelled him and felt the cold on your cheek, only to look up and have him looking at you! I think that most people agree that the dark ones with the bad odor associated with them are usually evil in nature. Kell has had some frightening experiences with the entity called the 'Dark Man' who causes a kind of paralysis (she was in bed, and could not move)... but I don't believe she ever saw his eyes or anything. We will have to get her to tell you about it.
We occasionally see a dark figure without legs, but looking like the upper half of someone dressed like Abraham Lincoln. It moves about in our living room or hallway sometimes.

In the last couple of weeks, two of us have encountered a dark shadow in our kitchen who brushed past us very closely. (Kell and I live in the same house, for those of you who might not know, and we are the ones who encountered the shadow in the kitchen.) It wasn't scary, but simply surprising because it happened kind of suddenly.

It is great that you shared your stories with us Lyn. I think we will have some interesting discussions in the future. =)
