Just caught an article in the National Enquirer about OJ's daughter, Sydney, is having some repressed memories coming to the surface now... and she is reportedly talking now about having seen OJ murder her mother. I know... the tabloids are often kinda hard to believe sometimes, but I think it is quite likely that she did see it. She actually made a 911 call in January during a fight with her father, and she had locked herself in her bedroom to make the call because she was very frightened of him. Has anyone else seen this article. What do you think... does she really have repressed memories coming to the surface now... it has been 10 years, and experts say that the timing is about right for it to happen. She is 17 now, and desperately wants to live with her Mom's family, and not her father.

Anyone have any thoughts about this?

Mare, I can't recall, was she there the day of the murder at all? I remember hearing she had called 911 during a fight but I don't think it was that particular occasion. It seemed to be an ongoing thing until OJ murdered his wife.

On the day of the murder, the children were upstairs in their bedrooms, and supposedly asleep, but Sydney had just returned from a dance recital, and she was still pumped up and excited. Nicole, Sydney and her brother went to the recital together, and then went to dinner with some of Nicole's family afterwards. The dog usually slept in Sydney's room, and if she was asleep, she may have been awakened by his barking when the ruckus with OJ started downstairs. Remember, the dog was wandering around outdoors with bloody paws after it happened... the front door was found open. I guess Sydney either came downstairs and saw what was happening from the landing of the staircase, or perhaps even opened the door, if her mother had closed it. When she saw what was happening, she ran back up to her bedroom where she felt safer... typical behavior for a child of 8. When the police came, they removed the children from their bedrooms and took them out via the back door.

I've wondered about this myself. With what must have been absolute slaughter downstairs, those poor kids must have heard or seen something. It would not be surprising for this to be some form of repressed memory. I've always held to the theory that O.J. didn't kill Nicole and Ron Goldman himself, but had someone do it for him as a murder for hire.
If Sydney knows or even suspects her father did this or was behind it, I know that poor child has suffered all these years. =(

I have been very interested in this case from the beginning, and I watched the entire trial, and have read every book I could find about it. My general opinion has been that OJ did the dirty work himself. I would be surprised, actually, if Sydney didn't see something... and maybe the boy did, too. There had to be some loud voices, or other scuffling sounds that would have at least alerted the dog, who certainly could have awakened the kids by barking, if the other noises didn't. Wouldn't it be kind of odd that she would think her father did this, if she didn't actually recognize him? The average child wouldn't jump to that conclusion automatically.... would they? I mean, just automatically believe that one parent killed the other one? Unless there was some reason in her mind that led her to believe that her father might just do this; she may have known about the prior domestic violence, and that her mother was afraid of OJ. Perhaps she really feared that her father might harm her mother?

I know that I would have been more inclined to try to believe in OJ's possible innocence, IF he had tried to do alot more in getting the police to find the killer. He really didn't seem to have more than a token interest in it. But, then... there was so much else that happened that night that was hard to believe that it could all be coincidence, at least in my mind.

This case is one that I really hope that someone solves someday, but there will never be another trial for OJ, for that would constitute double jeopardy. But, as you said, Carrie.... what a terrible memory for this child to have witnessed such a brutal crime against her mother, if indeed she did see it. Poor girl... and this has to be tough on her brother, too. They were just little children, and they lost their mother... that was a huge trauma in itself.

That is pretty horrible. Your mother being murdered just downstairs. That is more than sufficient trauma to cause repression of those memories.
Though recollection of repressed memories, as far as I know, has no typical cycle. Only when the mind is ready to deal with it do the memories start to resurface. For some people it's never.

I never made the judgement call on whether OJ did the murder himself. I do believe with everything I've seen that he is guilty of the murder.
For me it really pushed me over the edge for knowing that justice is for sale. If you have enough money you can buy your way out of just about anything. You see it so many times. Poor people go to jail over minor infractions, rich murders and theives of peoples life savings go free.

It really sucks. We have a good judicial system but it seems many lawyers are not interested in what's right or wrong but doing whatever it takes to get a job done for their client. Poor or lack of ethics and moral code.

If this girl really is regaining repressed memories I hope she comes forward and gives testimony to the truth. At least the world will know the truth, recognize OJs guilt and make it evident what money can buy.

I haven't seen the article Az, please keep us posted if you see anything else. =)
