Hi Mel =)

Spirit guides can stay with you a lifetime or just for a period of time, depending on your needs. Your wizard probably came to you for a specific purpose in your life and that being accomplished has moved on.

Regarding your cowboy guide, did you know that you can ask a spirit guide to leave? Well you can and they must do so.

Spirit guides often have a past life connection to you, so you might want to wait and see what the cowboy guide has to offer and/or teach you before you ask him to leave. Hope this helps you some and good luck!

I don't havemuch background knowledge about spirit guides. What exactly do they guide you towards? How can you be sure they are trustworthy?

Spirit guides are there to help you learn life's lessons. They aren't guiding you 'toward' anything specific. It is like having a friend at your side who helps you.

I don't recall ever hearing about a spirit guide being 'untrustworthy', but I suppose it could happen(?). The spirit guides I am most familiar with are animal guides. Since all animals are pure in spirit, and think no evil thoughts, I don't believe an animal guide would be untrustworthy. Spirit guides are not usually human, they are more often animals), though some believe that they are human. The connection with a spirit guide is just that... a spiritual connection with another being in spirit form that is there to help you learn and guide you through life's difficult times. (FYI Fred...'spirit' and 'spiritual' as used here doesn't imply a connection with Christianity, etc. It is a more about the 'life force' within every living thing. Even an insect has a spirit.) Spirit guides have played an important part in many cultures (shamanic, etc.) all over the world from ancient times to present, including the Native American people.

are you sure that your drunk cowboy is a guide??? and you should actually have more than one. do you meditate? might be a good idea to do so and ask them to let you know who they are. JMHO.

I raised the question of trustworthiness because I have had personal experience with deceitful demonic spirits. They had me tricked for a while about a variety of things. John offers a simple test to determine a spirit's intent. Later.
