If anyone has had a chance to check out my other post about Tampa, FL I mentioned that a group of friends and I have been doing a bit of investigation on Myrtle Hill Cemetary and Garden of Memories. Well the last time that we went it was a bit quieter than the first time which was 2 nights prior. I think it might have had something to do with us bringing a new person with us. Which I believe some people can vouch for certain people not mixing well with spirits. But the strangest part of our visit was the roaches. We had been inside for awhile and been walking all around and sitting on the floor, and like I said we'd been in 2 days before. Didn't notice anything. We went back outside for a little bit, the smell of death and flowers gets to ya after awhile. And upon going back in we were sitting in the same spots when one of us happened to put his hand down on a roach. We all got up quickly and started searching with a flashlight and discovered the spot in which they were sitting was infested with dead roaches. And we searched more and discovered they were all over the floor of the place. This is an indoor mausoleum btw. We took the chance and turned on the lights for a moment and discovered hundreds of them all over, and all were dead but a few very live ones. We didnt understand with the amount of time we spent there in the same spots and having been there 2 nights before how we never noticed a single one. Then when I got the pictures that we had taken back... We discovered something even stranger. In all the pictures taken before we noticed the roaches there were none in the pictures. But in the pictures after we had gone back in they were there. Like in the few minutes we spent outside they just kindof appeared. Now I know what its like to have a roach problem, and you need serious bug spray to kill that many... There was no smell of spray... And the type and amount you'd have to use to do so would be harmful to people too, so why was the place still open? It just doesnt make sense to me. If anyone out there has any experience with anything similar to this I'd love your input. I can only think one thing could have done this... and thats spirits, or the presence of such. If anyone has any comments or suggestions it'd be great. Sorry about the length guys =) . Thanks.

ewwwwwwww!I'm going to be itchin all night. Yuck! I don't have any experience with ghosts bringing bugs but I have to say I'd think twice before going back. I'd figure that maybe the ghosts put the roaches there cause they didn't want to be disturbed and I'd sure oblige them by not going back. But that's me, I'm a big chicken when it comes to bugs. [Shocked] Maybe there's some other explaination, I don't know what it would be though, all I know is that I hate roaches. Sorry I'm not much help.

They did get there by a spirit who was upset that the new person was there. They are hoping that it will scare everyone off. Expecally the new one. I Know it makes no sense but to them. I also fully understand that there are some people spirits do not mix with *my husband could walk though the door and it would pi$$ them off, He did that too me too though, must have been him. LOL>

Hi Malystra,

No problem on the length of the post - always take as much room as you need! [Wink]

That had to be a gross experience, and puzzling too. I don't think anyone can give a definitive answer if it was indeed caused by ghosts, but I'd think it within the realm of possibility. I know that sometimes - in nature - you'll find a swarm (?) of grasshoppers just suddenly show up en masse, then disappear just as fast, leaving the dead ones behind, of course. But that usually takes place over a course of days. It's odd that the roaches seemed to show up so suddenly and most were dead! [Eek!] How much time had elapsed between them not being there, and showing up?

I think I'd have taken a few samples and had them checked out - maybe a nearby college would have a bug expert. They might have a migrating pattern or their nearby habitat may have been disturbed with poison causing them to run enmass until the poison took effect. Also ask the care taker - it's possible that this happens from time to time and the care taker had just cleaned up when you visited the last time.

Thanks for all your responses guys =) . To reply to KellKell we had gone outside that night for a cigarette break and also a break from the smell inside. I'd say the most we were out there was 15-20 minutes. When we came back in...they were there. Now for logics sake I can say there is a slight possibility we just didn't notice them earlier... even though we were sitting right on top of them. But it's highly doubtful, considering they're not in the pictures from the first time we went in that evening.
Oh also kindof in response to Connie. I'm not sure where you live but as far as Florida goes roaches are everywhere. In your garage, attic, and very easily in the house. They live in anyplace dark and moist and with something to eat. Now I don't exactly know what they could be eating in there (maybe dead flowers?) but I do know it is not uncommon to see that number of roaches in one place. Just strange that 99% of them were dead. Roaches don't die easily. And to kill that many you'd need some very strong spray and a lot of it. But there was no smell of spray. And if they had bombed the place people wouldn't be allowed in cause the chemicals would make you sick. Plus there were a few very lively ones, that weren't affected if there had been spray. Hmm...Still very puzzling, but I'm almost convinced that this was done by one of the many spirits that resides there. Again thanks for your help =)

That is quite odd. I live rather close to Tampa myself so I know how roaches can be down here.

I was thinking maybe there was a place near by that was spraying. these roaches got out of that place and ran to the cemetary but most got effected so it took them longer to die. but when they passed through where you guys were sitting they finaly keeled over. I have seen a roach walk all over the place after being sprayed before dying.

Just an idea.
