Has anyone ever tried this? Does it work and if so how do you go about doing it? I was thinking of trying it but I would like more info on it. Could it be dangerous to try?

I used to use to use automatic writing a lot. Im not sure if it does work as Ive never really wrote anything that was earth shattering so to speak.
Anyways you may like to try a book by Ted Andrews called Automatic writing. It may be out of print now, but it is a good little book.

When you try automatic writing take cautious steps to protect yourself and your environment, basically think of it like a ouija board.

You relax your mind and hold a pen on the paper. Sooner or later you will feel the need to move the pen. Dont force it or try to pre think what is about to be written. First up you may get some scrawl. If you get a lot put the pen down and leave it for another time.

I've done it. I've tried at times and got nothing but stribbles. One particular time I wasn't even trying and I drew several symbols. I was just doodling. I let my hand doodle without conscious thought. The next thing I new I was drawing symbols in thick lines (shaded in).
Personally I don't think it is potentially as dangerous as a OUIJA board. At least you don't hear as many bad experiences about AW as you do about OUIJA boards.
And in my personal experience I've had bad experiences resulting from a OUIJA board and never from AW.
I'm sure others have other opinions.
But to answer your question. I would say yes, there is potential danger. But then there is potential danger in being alive. Gaines advice is good. Take precautions if you do decide. You don't want to invite anything malicious to your presence.
