I heard the other day that they found a pregnant woman's body, as well as an infant's body (found a day apart), washed up on a riverbank (?) in Ca.
They think it might be that of Laci Peterson and her baby, but need to do DNA tests first to find out. =( Oh, it would be so nice to finally have some closure in this case, but I can only imagine the pain her family is going through right now, waiting for the answer. I think it should be coming any day now...
Did I ever say that I do not trust her husband in all of this? Nope. I surely don't. Way too many things wrong with his story - and actions.

I saw this too and my heart broke for the family of Laci. I don't ever want to know what those poor people are going through. The waiting has to be torture on them!
As far as the husband goes, I don't trust him one bit. Aside from other things, he takes out a huge insurance policy on his wife and she disappears.....yeah that doesn't look suspicious does it![[Mad]](mad1.gif)
My prayers are with the family right now and I hope confirmation will come soon so they can have closure and begin to heal.

I've had the strongest feelings that poor girl confronted her husband about his infidelity and he killed her in a fit of rage. His behavior has been suspicious from the start. My heart just breaks for Laci's family, I can't imagine how awful this must be for them. =(
I've just read that they are pretty sure that the body of the woman and infant are her and her baby.

I thought it was interesting that Scott Peterson tried to change his appearance by growing a beard and dying his hair -- speculation that he was about to high-tail it to Mexico. He was also reportedly playing golf when the DNA testing was going on. I can't imagine being in a situation where a murdered loved one was found and not being there. This guy just reeks of guilt.
I'm really hoping they put it to him. No one deserves to die like that poor girl did, and then to think that he took the life of his own child. Absolutely hideous!!

I too have heard all the information the media has put forth to date:
I have not heard evidence strongly condeming Scott Peterson yet.
(the police may very well be holding evidence back)
I have to ask myself: if I were on this jury: would I have a reasonable doubt? At this point I would say "yes"
I know it looks really bad for him - the guy had 10K in his pocket, died his hair, grew a goatee and had no valid alibi on the day of her disappearance... Hardly an intelligent move... (running)
Maybe he was SCARED? the police have been following him for months. He was literally run out of Modesto.
I am saying this:
Something about this case FEELS really wrong to me.

Oh, I do think he's scared.... could either be because he's guilty and he knows he's in real trouble now, or simply afraid of these charges against him (if he didn't do it). I know I'd be a wreck if someone thought I'd murdered someone!
It's hard to grasp the idea that he would kill his wife and unborn child. I'm anxious for the case to start - I'd like to know what all evidence they have against him. As far as I know, much of it is circumstantial, but who knows what will come out in the trial.

That is a point, and I'm sure this guy is scared for several reasons. However, I would be really interested to hear what the police have in those 90 bags of evidence obtained from his house. If Scott Peterson isn't guilty, he sure hasn't presented himself well as an innocent man. At the very best, in my opinion, he could be classified as an insensitive clod.

Has anyone heard of any explanation of why they found the mom and baby's body separated? She was eight months pregnant when she went missing - why wouldn't the baby's body still be in the mom's?
This so much reminds me of a case we had here locally where a woman was kidnapped for her baby - the kidnapper cut the baby from the mom and then tried to pass the baby off as her own. This woman was no surgeon and if one small thing went wrong, both mom and baby would have been dead.

Carrie, the last I heard, they'd approximated Laci's death to have occurred somewhere between Dec. 23 and Dec. 24.

But I don't think we'll know for sure unless forensic analysis can determine if it was caused by decomposition, or if there are cut marks, etc. (Provided they have enough of the remains to make this determination.)

I listened to a pretty detailed forensic explanation on how the baby floated on out as the womb decomposed. The female body was headless and possibly both legs and arms missing (legs for sure were missing). This is because the body was anchored down with wire and weights at those points. As the body decomposed, the torso tore away, and was washed ashore. Pretty gruesome stuff, unless you like forensics. I am glad her family and friends at least know what happened. Very sad.
Actually, Kell, I was wondering about the other victim that was found in San Francisco Bay. If she had been murdered after the death of Laci Peterson, I would think it would rule Scott Peterson out (they are investigating him as a suspect in several murders, including one at his alma mater). Speculators have posed theories that he may be a serial killer.
However, there would be almost no chance of the guy having committed both crimes if this other woman was murdered after Laci was -- the police have been too close on his tracks. The two cases are so coincidental that it would lead me to think that maybe (a longshot, in my opinion), Laci fell victim to a possibly unknown killer, rather than her husband.

Could ya'll post a link to a story about the other pregnant woman found? I have not been able to find anything in regards to another pregnant woman abducted/murdered where Laci Peterson either disappeared or was found.
