Most of the items that disappear and reappear in my home is shiney things. Jewelry, keys, trinkets? Do you think that ghosts are attracted to these items or are they easier to take?
I was thinking, see the smoke? LOL That maybe the metals in these items make it easier or the size?
Anybody ever thought about this?

I have had things disappear and re-appear for years. One time I looked in my dresser drawer and dozens of things I had used in college filled the whole drawer.Next day--bam-they were all gone.Haven't seen them since! One book in particular in which I wrote some poems keeps disappearing, for months at a time, then --presto--there it is on a pile of towels in my hall closet! One time after searching for hours,I found my portable phone in the closet, just hanging there.Sometimes askng for the object back helps! Hi Sherman nice too meet you!
I also have had this problem for years and today, as something was missing (again) I kind of thought about the items and topping the list was jewelry. Actually, I had never given it alot of thought and I am just used to it happening. And then I started thinking, "what if jewelry had some attraction to the spirit world?
Probably the weirdest was on my honey-moon many years ago. I was 22 years old, looked 16 and always got ID'd. I had been asked for ID in many places in FL, the third day there it was gone. I had it in my cigarette case and both were gone. I couldn't get served anywhere for the next 10 days we were there, and it made the honey-moon a bit tense. First thing, I got home and went and got a new license. One month later, I woke up and there it sat on the end of my dresser? LOL
Yes, alot of times I have just declared in the open air, "can I please have this or that back!" And have gotten it, sometimes. The only thing I haven't gotten back is my grandmothers rosary.
Phone in the closet? That's a cute one =)
I know they just want us to know they're around.
Anyways, nice too meet you again Sherman!

I got a good one for ya... My boyfriend and I were at his house one afternoon. It was just him and I. He was taking a shower and I decided to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Well, after I was through making it, I went to put away the two jars, and the cap to the jelly jar was gone. And I had placed it right next to the cap to the peanut butter. I checked the garbage, the floor, the fridge and freezer, the sink (both sides), the cabinets, the pantry, and the silver ware draw. It was gone.
I was so confused. I didn't know where else to look.
Now, the man that lived in the house before him was named Bernard P. Niles (he still receives mail, despite his passing away). So, without knowing where else to look I simply called out, "Bernie, can I please have the cap to the jelly back. I think that I need it a bit more than you do. Just return it when you are through, thanks."
Later that night, my boyfriend's mother found the cap in the silver ware draw, a place that I had already looked... [Eek!]

Hi Panda and Christine! And everyone else also =)
Looking back, the first time I noticed this I was around 5-6 years old. I had a Little Suzy Hostess Buffet, any older gals might remember it, and it had candleabras, chamagne glasses, silverware, all kinds of fancy entertainging things in plastic.
It was my dream come true and I watched it like it was diamonds and gold.
I would arrange everything in a such a way, when I woke up in the morning it was different. I accused my little brother of messing with my things. This buffet caused such a fuss in the home, my brother and I fought about it constantly.
One day after Mom brought us home from swimming, I went in my bedroom and there was a footprint, actually a foot went right through the buffet, it was also plastic. It was huge compared to my brothers or my foot but mom measured us up anyways. My father concluded that it still could have been one of us, it just cracked more plastic around it then the foot was in size. To this day my brother and I both say, it wasn't one of us?
I think someone wanted us to stop fighting maybe?
So, welcome Panda I am sure you will feel at home here, everyone is wonderful. I just ramble all the time =) LOL
Nice too meet you and hi to everyone else!

In my experience it's been almost anything. Including but not limited to shiny things.

Sometimes it's my car. I'll swear I parked it in one spot in a parking lot yet it will be in another spot. Those dang parking lot ghosties!!! [Laughing] [Laughing]
That and they mess with the volume on my radio almost all the time. [Nutty]

Good question, Peg. =) I believe Carrie has her jewelry taken quite often. I had a tennis bracelet turn up missing years ago, never to be seen again. Thankfully, it was only CZ and not diamond! Of course, the cats we had at the time were fond of shiny things, but I figure after all of these years, I should have come across it again, if it had been the cat who took it. They were indoor cats. And of course, there's always the chance I lost it while I was out, but I think I would have noticed that! [Confused]

Anyhow, yes, it does seem they have an affinity for shiny things. Or is it that they're just attracted to things we need (keys) or cherish (jewelry)??? Hmm! But other things go missing too, so it isn't limited to just the shiny stuff. [Big Grin] Something to ponder though!

It must be the shiny stuff. My coworker and I just had something weird happen at the trade show we worked this weekend.

We have have a huge jewelry case with a lighted lucite top. The jewelry lay on 2 slide out grey felt drawers that come to rest against a white bar in the front of the case. I unlocked the both drawers, but did not notice anything missing. My friend comes in and since she had been running late, she went to take a compact out of the case to use the mirror. The compact and pill case were gone. We bot pulled the drawers out, lifted the pads and they were nowhere to be seen.

We were the only ones in the booth since I unlocked it. I assumed my boss had taken both pieces to a meeting he had earlier that morning so I was not overly concerned, after all I had unlocked the case and we had the only 2 keys. We were both leaning on the top of the case, talking about the show when all of a sudden she looks down and asked me "am I losing my mind?" "Look!" I look down and said we both must be loosing it. Both pieces were in the case resting on the white bar that keeps the drawer from hitting the front glass! Believe me, you would notice anything sitting on this bar, especially something the size of a silver compact and pill box. We admit that one of us may have overlooked it, but both of us not seeing it and then seeing it pratically under our elbows. We tried to recreate what might have happened, but if the pieces were anywhere else in the case, the drawers would not close, the pads would not lie flat etc. She is still freaking out, I am just glad it happens at work and not in my house. I can just hear me and Jimmy blaming each other for being absent minded [Nutty]

Hi everyone!
I am defintely no expert, but I really think after suffering this all my life it has to be something to do with the shiney or metal?
Usually, when a peice of mine goes missing, it doesn't turn up for days. And when it does, it is right out in the open! LOL
Yep, something to think about anyways!
