I think I have a trapped spirit in my beauty shop. I need to know if something has gone on that I do not know about at my business address.

Deborah, I edited your post because of safety reasons. Sometimes it just isn't safe to give out an address or exact location.
My suggestion would be first to talk to neighbors. Is your shop in what was once a home, or is it in a shopping center? It won't hurt to ask about what others know about the history of the place. Folks will usually open up pretty readily about things like that.
If that isn't possible, or doesn't lead you anywhere, try looking at tax records, etc... at your county office to see who owned the property prior to you. This can help you with research at your local library, looking up the family's name and any pertinent information.
I hope this helps! I know encountering something like this for the first time can be a bit unsettling. A lot of folks here have first hand experience with dealing with things of this nature, so I'm sure you will get some advice you can use. Good luck!

Hi Carrie, Deb and everyone!
Deb, Carrie gave you the best advice to start finding the history of your shop.
What got me is you know that this spirit is trapped, or was that a figure of speech?
That interested me, that you said trapped?
Ok, I am weird, I admit it! [Nutty]
Can't wait to here what you find out!
Funny thing happened to me the other night!
I was reading on hauntings in Michigan and was quite surprised to see my cousins old house as one of the haunted? LOL
They built a home in the country and even named their own street, it is a very, very small town, not even a town? They own 22 acres around their home, well her ex still lives in it?
It was a kind of funny shock? I never sensed anything there, maybe something moved in recently?
I am going to try and get in touch with him and see what is up.......I may make a trip? LOL
Take care everyone ((((((((hugssss))))))

Can you give us a little more detail on what happens at your shop? Is it just the employees being touched, or is there something more? Do you notice it taking place in only one area of the building?

Indeed, I'd do some research on the building and land it sits on. As Carrie said, start with the neighbors, then another thing you can do, prior to searching the libraries etc., is to take a look at other haunts that may be close to your shop.

Here are some links to haunted places in Oklahoma:

Good luck!

I feel like such a yutz now for asking what part of the country your from in your other post. I only meant to see if anyone from the board is from your area and may be able to help.

Please don't post your address on a message board. You don't know who is going to read it. Ack. It's like inviting spirits into your house. You don't know who's going to accept the invitation.

Carrie has great advice. But it also may be a spirit that wandered in. In my experience ghosts do move sometimes. I met one ghost that haunted a good portion of an apartment complex. He would just wander from apartment to apartment visiting.

I tend to go with the psychic way of finding out information rather than researching in local resources. If you find you can't sense anything yourself, most people when they try find they can sense things, you can find a local psychic. Though since I read you live in the bible belt you may find it hard to find a psychic.

And please keep us informed of what happens. And if you could give us a little more information on what's happening.
