as to what instrument I play.. Guitar.
and I sing .. loudly and mostly off key.. (j/k)

yeah I have several places to hunt in this town..
they used to hang people off the courthouse balcony.. lots of times without a trial..

there is an old house that used to be a civil war hospital (chop shop)..

and an old schoolhouse from the 1800's

a place several miles out of town (belonging to the family of a friend) which has been there since the civil war, and before that it was mostly indian ground (including old burial mounds etc).. I have felt the cold spots on this property and heard a woman crying there before.. (it scared the heck out of my friend and I).. I will probably start there..

Hi Jeff, and welcome to SpiritKeep! Yep, you are living in a great area for ghost hunters, with all of it's Civil War history, etc. You will have to tell us how it goes, once you get started. =)

welcome aboard Jeff!
I see you lived in california! I remember coming home to the south from california and stopping at that first truck stop on I-10 in Mississippi and having my first fried fish and green beans cooked all soft with fat back. OOOH!! had been eating those cunchy veges out west for too long!!!

there is a great book out by alan brown from the university press of Mississippi titled "shadows and cypress, southern ghost stories". it's excellent and the great part of the book is the long intro which explains a lot of the different regions of the south and their culture. the south is not homogenous at all- many differing cultures make us up. did you know that most of the southern food you hear about came from Africa? Yup- fer sure......

I hope you enjoy your stay here south of the mason dixon line. it'll take yall some gettin used to........just get out there and wrap your jaws around some cajun cookin or some low country eats from over my way and all of our other very bad for the body but good for the soul foods!!!

once again- welcome!!
