eek! Another serial killer on the loose. I didn't know about this guy, Derrick Todd Lee, did anyone else? They think he's killed 5 women in Louisiana... in fact, his DNA is linked to these killings. Hope they find him!

They picked him up in Atlanta tonite at 8:30pm.
They said that he was still socializing, going to cookouts, hitting on women and trying to get them to go to his motel room and drink cognac.
I am just gald they have him in custody.
I remember as a pre-teen growing up in Michigan with John Collins on the loose. He murdered quite a few ladies in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti not far from my home.
When they arrested him, one of my teachers was in shock, as he had roomed with him a couple years before? YIKES!
But I remember that time of fear, your parents not letting you out of their sight and them freaking out if you did.
Glad they got this jerk finally. I read up in this on Court TV and for almost a year they were looking for a white male. He started getting sloppy and he must have been a previous offender, they had asked him for a swab test a few months ago.
What in the world makes someone do these things. I always say that, I just don't understand except that it is evil, pure evil. No soul?
I hope it brings the families of the victims some closure, knowing he didn't get away with it.

I remember the case from about a year ago. He got a little publicity around the same time of the serial sniper on the east coast. I had even wondered at the time if the two were connected, both had roots around the Baton Rouge area. After a while, it seemed like the case was just shut up.
I feel so sorry for the children of madmen like these-- this guy has two little kids. I can't imagine what their lives will be like. My heart goes out to the victims' families, nothing can replace their loved ones.
Peg, in the town where I taught, there had been a serial killer who owned an auto repair shop. He had killed several elderly customers. My parents had almost gone there once, but he was closed. A former student of mine had gone to this guys house regularly and played with his kids, at the time all of this was going on.

Good Grief Carrie!
I was reading up on serial killers last night, as I couldn't sleep.
It seems a few I read had documented head injuries that affected the front lobe of the brain.
It was just an article on Court TV. It also was pointing that most serial killers are highly intelligent, but working in a labor type job.
Carrie, let me say I am sooooooooooooooo....glad that that man was closed when your parents went there! Oh man! Someone was definitely looking out for them!
Again, glad that they got this killer, but I wish it would have been alot sooner also.
I was talking to Curt last night about how I can't fathom a person doing this and living with themselves. He said it was good I didn't understand, he said he most normal people don't understand! Duh on me, been in this house too long again!

Peg your husband it so right. Normal people will never understand the insane things that this evil people do. Sometimes I wonder if I should have children...I almost don't want them to have to grow up in the world the way it is. I don't know...it's really scary to think about what is out there. =(
