Hi all,
I've been looking all over the internet for a description of a ghost similar to one that a friend has seen, but I've had no success.

One night my friend had just gone to bed, she was just getting comfortable, and turned over, when she saw a shadowy figure standing next to her bed pointing a finger at her. She said that the tip of it's finger was glowing red! Upon screaming the ghost then vanished and never returned.

I tend to believe her as she has had other wierd experiences, which have also been witnessed by other family members.

If anyone had heard of a similar thing (specifically with the red fingertip) please reply.

Thanks

Shadowdude, that must have been a pretty scary experience for your friend. The only thing remotely resembling that I've ever experienced was as a very small child. I have a distinct recollection of two figures, seen only in silhouette form, that seemed to have a glowing red aura around them.
That has always been a very puzzling memory for me, and like I said, I was very young when it happened. To this day, I don't have a clue as to what, if anything, it signified.
I see that you are in Australia -- you might want to check for books regarding myths, legends and ghost stories in your area and see if anything rings a bell. Good luck!

Wow, I've heard of shadow ghosts but I don't recall anything about a glowing red finger. Does she know the history of her house? Maybe the history or like Carrie said myths and legends would explain it. The only thing I can think of is maybe she was farther asleep than she thought and part of it was a dream.

Thanks for the replies, Carrie and Renee. I'm not sure about the history of her house, but it's definitely something to look into.

I too have read numerous accounts about shadow ghosts, but nowhere about the glowing finger. I'm begining to think that these sightings that deviate from the norm (such as the red aura you described Carrie and the glowing finger) may be a personal message only intended for the person viewing it.
