Last night, my mother-in-law and I went to bingo. I did drive over to her house, I know I shouldn't drive, but it is all backroads.
Anyways, after bingo mom and I were talking about gramma who passed 2 years ago. For some reason we started talking about whom was buried where. Mom said she didn't know where her grandparents were. I told her that I knew, gramma had told me and had hoped to visit their graves before she died, but she never did.
So, I get this great idea to stop at the cemetery on the way home, it is on my way out in the country. I drove to the back where gramma told me they were, and took the flashlight out and found the graves. And I just thought to myself, "there gramma!"
On the way home, my airconditioning kept going on high. Now, I had hubby's car and I had it on low, two dots on the thing were lighted and I would feel a breeze and it went up 2 more? LOL So, I turned it off and decided to open a window and before I opened one window there was a cool breeze in the car, nothing was on, then it was gone?
I had to laugh. Did gramma know what I just did? And maybe she was letting me know she seen it?
Alot of people say not to go into cemetery's at night but they don't bother me at all? One grave I even kinda picked up, his flowers fell over!
I used to do charcol sketchings of stones, so I am used to cemetery's I guess?
I think I did get a little visit?

Sounds like it Peg.. That's kinda cool (no pun intended hehe) As for the not going to cememtery at night, the only reason I can think of it cause most are closed at night and you might trip over something and hurt yourself in the dark. =P

Hey, maybe you did have a little visit! [Big Grin] I agree with Miranda, I think the reason they don't advise people visiting cemeteries at night if mainly for safety concerns, and many of the mainained ones keep hours. And as such, you should always take someone with you; should anyone trip or get hurt, it's good to have a buddy to lend help. [Wink]

Hi!
Most of the cemetery's around here are really old and just open? No fences, some don't even have a drive, you have to park on the side of the road.
I know what you mean though, I almost got locked in one in Michigan once a long time ago. Imagine me doing 40mph in a graveyard LOL!
Well, nothing happened tonite. I stopped by the cemetery but didn't go on in.
And your right, some of these cemetery's are in bad repair, stones toppled, etc.
My husband said my fasination with headstones is morbid. I just love seeing the diff styles and some of the carvings?
I promise, no more at night!
