I had a strange dream about 2-3 nights ago (what's new, you ask? ).

Well, there was quite a bit going on in this dream, but the one thing that stood out that I recalled when I woke up was this huge dead eagle! I was walking with my brother, apparently a couple blocks away from my house, and on the side of the sidewalk (there was a grassy area by the street side), lay an enormous dead eagle! This bird was, wow, a good 15-20 feet long.

As we passed it, while Dan was telling me he had to go close up some shop before we could do whatever it was we were going to do in the dream, I looked over at this dead bird. I didn't think much of it - the size of it didn't seem shocking. There was also a man I didn't recognise, pulling meat or something off of the bird's facial area and chewing on it. Dan didn't notice a thing!

Pretty wacky, huh? dreammoods.com's dictionary is down, so I wasn't able to look anything up - in case there is a hint what this one might be about.

This is a scarily portentuous dream.

Well, it seemed to skip around a lot and I don't really know that the other 'scenes' are necessarily related.

At one point, I was doing laundry in someone else's home (don't know who!) and seemed to either be getting ready for a trip, or just came back from one. There were bags of clothing (suitcase type) around and I was going through those. There was also a backyard pool of sorts (about four times the size of an above ground spa) that doubled as a washing machine. Someone was swimming in it and I was worried for their safety.

There was also a woman in it (blind, I do believe - she had eyes that looked strangely like buttons! - flat, black with a slightly rough surface) at various points, who was yelling at me. Well, not always yelling, but being argumentative - trying to draw me into a fight, I think.

Oh, the 'store' that Dan referred to, I think he worked there. This might have come about because he is currently out of work, but is looking for a job. The other stuff I mentioned above doesn't seem to fit in with the eagle, but nothing in this dream was very connected.

An interesting thing though, when I woke up, there was a show on Air Force One taking place on the History Channel (?). Made me wonder if the eagle doesn't symbolize our government somehow. I dunno. What were your thoughts, Nakis?

That's funny that you mention watching something on Air Force One, Eagle is the Secret Service code name for the president, according to West Wing but I think it's true. Maybe your dream was about frustration at government.

For people in the US, the eagle is symbolic of our country.
It could be symbolic of what you feel about what's happening in our nation. Where we are compared to what you believe we should be.
It could be symbolic of what you think of our president. We know that things that happen in the waking world migrate into our dreams. The show on Air Force one may have become part of your dream.

Now the prophetic possibilities are scary. But you only saw one man eating the great eagle. Strange.
There's a lot of possibilities for this.

When I first read your post it got me scared. The impression I got was for danger to the US. I'm very worried about our country. From issues we have in our country and issues from outside our country. That may have influenced my impression. That's why I asked you to give some more details.

I thought about the danger to the US too, Nakis, but didn't want to jump to conclusions and spook anyone. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Actually, we got some good news about Dan's court case a couple days after I had the dream (we still need to post this to you guys!) - the judge dropped his case!!! So, I'm thinking that maybe this was symbolic of Dan 'winning' the court battle with the state. Afterall, I was walking with Dan in the dream when I saw the dead eagle. hmm!
