My 10 year old grandaughter is sitting here with me and today she just told me about the ghosts in her house. I didn't think Gabby had this gift, but today I found out she does.
She is seeing an old man and an old woman in her home, heading to her bedroom. She also somehow knows both previous owners died in the home. The old man had a heart attack in the basement and the old mans wife just died in her sleep in Gabby's current bedroom. Gabby also see's lights in her closet and she says there in nothing in her closet causing this. She has tried to talk to mom and dad and they don't beleive her.
She has seen them in form, kinda see through and she said she has also seen another ghost that isn't any one of the 2 mentioned that is like a vapor that sinks into the floor.
She also knows where they hide. There is a cubby cupboard with a mirror, where she keeps all her toys and she see's them hiding there.
Gabby said it is freaky feeling in the basement and in the upstairs den. She is quite on this and very elaborate about it. The only places she hasn't seen these ghosts is in the kitchen and living room.
I have explained to Gabby that well, alot of us in the family see ghosts and feel things and not to be scared.
I need to know, did she just now develop this ability or because she is a child is she picking up on this.
She also hears the mans voice in the basement by her piano. She said the man kept his computer there and thats is where she hears the voice and its asking for help.
In the basement it also seems the ghosts are playing with the pool table? She hears the balls moving.
Mom and Dad are always home with Gabby and they see nor hear anything. But, the babysitter has when she is watching Gabby. The babysitter is 13 years old.
Gabby seems to have a ton of info on the previous owners of this house that is odd.
Does anyone know of a site for children?
I am kinda surprised, she just popped out with this. She also wants to know why her daddy doesn't see things like the others of us do.
She is sitting here telling me what to write you.
Did she just now get this ability, or what?
Gabby is scared, but not terrified. She seems quite calm and glad to talk about it.
She does say the ghosts just walk right by here, the man swings his arms slowly. She barely sees the lady she walks faster, kinda sliding past her and the man goes up and down? I am getting too much detail here sorry!
If anyone can help us with a story of their own, cause her mom and dad are having none of it!
Thanks,
Piglet & Gabby Girl [Eek!]

Peg, Gabby is very lucky to have you to share this with her. We had my Great Aunt, Tante Marie who was very nonchalant about her paranormal experiences. Her stories were always told to us as perfectly normal occurances but the few incidents we experienced were always dismissed by my parents and other older relatives. I always chose to believe my Aunt, way more interesting.

The South Jersey Ghost Research has a kids section that Gabby would find useful.

Tell Gabby there are plenty of people who do believe. [Cool]

Most children have the ability to see what we can't see.If her dad had this ability when he was grown he is blocking it out.Little one don't be afaird and don't be afaird to tell what you see.If you keep this when you get grown you must look at it as a gift not a curse.Good luck and God Bless. Thanks! Poor Gabby is at an age where things in her life change enough, and then to have nobody beleive you. She asked me today, because she noticed all the incense, candles, and aromatherapy, and other things around the house. When she popped the question, "do you beleive in ghosts gramma?" I about fell out of the chair?
I am a sensitive, her uncle is and her 3 year old cousin is proving to be as well. My mother is, my grandmother was and so was her mother.
No, her father even as a child, everything is black or white, no gray areas. Which has proved to serve him well in his business. Its just his way. And to top it off, both her parents have degrees in psyhcology. I am sure a shrink is next in line. So its our promise that we talk about, at least until she is 18! LOL Her dad is my son, and he has debunked me for years! Even, one morning after I had gone to work and all three boys had over-slept for school. Something banged loudly on all of their doors at the same time, and all the boys met in the hall. Billy was the only one to accuse one of doing it. The other 2 knew something just happened?
She did get a bit scared tonite, we talked alot. She said she is never even close to sleeping when she see's or hears things.
You will get a kick out of this! We were playing poker on the computer and I went into the kitchen to get us a drink, she said something tapped her on her back? I said yeah your pony tail fell out? LOL
My son and his old/wife/new/wife, bought this house last year. The lady that owned it had just passed and my son started talking to her son and my son bought it right then and there. Also, they were given some furniture of the people and most of the house my son did to its original style. Including a mural on the dining room wall of Venice done by the husband years ago.
I just told Gab that this lady and man just seem so happy with her? And not to be scared, they won't hurt her, but keep gramma informed.
I have her all week so we're going to be doing some reading and thanks for the link!

P.S. Gabby found this site by herself and asked me why? Amazing isn't it, she knew that I come here? [Nutty]

Has Gabby been seeing things like this all her life, or did it just recently begin? Either way, I think everyone has the potential, but most are either discouraged from developing the gift or told they are nuts. She isn't, as I'm sure you know, Peg. =) It is a good thing she has you to talk to about these things, since her parents don't believe. Tell her not to fret about them not believing - not everyone does, because it isn't their reality. That's philosophy, doncha know. [Wink]

Jeannie, I didn't know about the SJGR kids' ghost site! I love it. I'll be adding that to our suggested ghost links page. [Big Grin]

Peg,
My father has always said that children see what adults REFUSE to see. Their precious minds have yet to be made bitter by the "real" world. It's wonderful that Gabby has your support. How nice it would be if we could all hold on to that child-like way of thinking (not to be confused with child-ISH!) What do you suppose we could experience if we only allowed ourselves? [Embarrassed]
Children see what we refuse to see...

Be well, Peg and Gabby.

Hi, its Piglet. Gab wanted to write you back and thank you. Very pro letter for her age LOL!
No, this is her first sighting.
When Gab comes over I will let her drop you guys a line and I am sending her home with some candles and incense, etc. Oh, and chimes! And she doesn't burn a thing unless mom and dad do it for her? She will just be like gramma then!

Yes, children are so much more open to things in other dimensions. It is great that you are talking to her about what she has seen. I had some ghostly friends when I was a little girl of not more than 2-3 years old. They were there in our house, and I can remember them sitting on the couch with me while my mother vacuumed the living room, etc., but she never saw them, and she always referred to them as 'my imaginary friends'. They were both older children than I was... I would guess 6-8 years old, and I remember their shoes not looking like mine. They were brown and came up around their ankles, and were very scuffed, like they had crawled around on the sidewalk in them alot. I am not even positive of their sex, but I think it was a girl and a boy. They had curly hair and lots of it, and kind of mousey brown. I am absolutely sure today that these were indeed spirits. They talked to me, and we played together alot. I don't recall ever seeing them again after we moved away from that house before I turned 4. I have no idea why they were in that house, nor why they didn't come with me when I moved away. But, their memory is still very clear in my mind to this day.

Tell Gabby that she is indeed seeing some people who lived in another time, and that it is a special gift from the Creator to be able to see them. Also tell her that we were happy to have her visit SpiritKeep. =)

Peg, I have to agree...Gabby is VERY lucky to have you. I have always believed that children can see and/or feel more then adults. I think their innocence makes them more prone. As we get older, and are told that there are no such things as ghosts...or that we are just being silly for 'thinking' that we've seen something....we tend to put the blinders up.

It's great that Gabby can come to you and discuss what she has seen with you. If she didnt have you, I don't think it would be too long before she would be dismissing what she has and does see as just her imagination.

Although I can imagine with this just starting to happen for her, that it can be scary at times. I wouldn't worry too much though....it sounds to me like these two ghosty's are just going about their business and she can just happen to see them. Have any of them actually tried to communicate with her? YOu had mentioned that the she can hear the man's voice in the basement. Did she feel like he was trying to ask her for help? Or was it just something that she was over hearing? Do you think that the mist she is seeing is just one of the other two in a different form?

She has an extraordinary ability...one that I consider her very lucky to have! =) Keep us posted on how she is doing with everything!

Gabby says they act like she isn't even there? LOL So I think they are just an imprint. She has heard the man downstairs ask for help, but he is not asking her, meaning Gabby. About the mist, she said it appeared in the hallway, and went through the floor in front of her, she never moved.
I feel sorry for her, I know her parents probably ragged on her, they are both so? Ya know? And they did make a comment to her she is acting like gramma LOL!
When I was little, I had a little girl I played with that was apparently a spirit. She taught me some older songs, Beautiful Dreamer and some Bushel and a Peck. Which later on led to my interest in older music I think. She looked alot like me, but not like me. We would sing, of course mom thought I was just singing to myself. Until one day, mom yelled from the hallway and said she had told me no friends in the house today, she opened my door and looked. She looked at me and just said quit singing, and I know she heard both of us.
And I told all of my little friends in the neighborhood about my girlfriend and they wanted to see her, but she didn't want them to. Her name was Mary and my mom wouldn't accept any of it, so I had to quit talking about it to her. And it just seemed I got older and the visits got less often to oneday she wasn't there anymore? LOL Sometimes I tell the thin air now I could sure use a friend!
When I was 12 years old, I was going through my mom and dads closet. Anyone ever sneaked around to see what your parents had? Well, I did and regret it. I found a photo album with my mom and other people in it. One looked alot like Mary. My mom was at the grocery and I asked her what was this all about as I threw it on the table, she started crying.
My mom had been married before. She had three children Eugene, Homer and Mary, they're father killed them in a drunken rage while my mom was at work and tried to kill her too but she got away.
After that my mom would talk to me openly about the kids, my brothers and sister I never knew.
I am not sure the little girl was Mary, I hadn't seen her in so long and well? If we did have the same mom it would explain the likeness. Sometimes I think my mom knew, and I know she felt alot of guilt for not being home the day it happened.
My mom is sensitive, but we don't always see the same things? She hears more than see's and I see more than hear?
One thing we all know, is that our family alive and crossed watch over us. Mom said its cause we're all cursed and need it? LOL
She's had her share of experiences, one that saved my sisters life. My sister came home on a cold winter night after hard partying, went to sleep with her electric blanket on. It caught on fire and Kat had drank so much she was out of it.
My mom said her step-dad hit her in the head and said "dammit tootie wake up!" Only her dad and step-dad called her that? Mom woke up and my sisters whole room was on fire, with my little sis just sitting in the middle of the bed crying?
Ok ........ramble, ramble I could go on for days with this stuff from a lifetime!
Everyone have a good day!
