[Roll Eyes] Hi all! I've been doing some ghost investigating and I noticed lately when I'm asking permission to photograph, the left back of my head tingles. I didn't know what to call it,so I did some research and a far as I can tell,it's called clairsentience. My question is can these abilities come on suddenly? Also, does anyone out there have a physical reaction to being around spirits, and what kinds of physical reactions do they have? Nearly every time I have this tingling,we capture something on film. Can this happen,or am I dilusional? Thanks bunches! Tanya

I know excately what you mean. When i am going around taking pictures in certain places or even when I just walk into certain places, I get a very weird feeling. I can't really explain what the feeling is. [Confused] I'm new at all this stuff. I've been ignoring it my whole life. I am just now coming to tearms with what it is and trying to do research on it...you know people have always told me I was just crazy.
If I find out while doing my research I will let you know and if you find anything please let me know!! [Roll Eyes]

I did a little looking around too, and I think you're right about the official name for the tingling, etc. Clairsentience means 'clear sensing' and can overlap other psychic abilities, such as clairaudience (clear hearing) and clairvoyance (clear seeing). Clairsentience is also known as Psychometry, where a sensitive person can pick up feelings from a person, object or place.

I think everyone is born with the ability, but as we grow older, we're apt to block it out - just as with many other things. It could be that you're opening up again! [Wink] When you make a connection to spirit, you're likely to feel that tingling sensation or pressure. I also call them 'psychic chills.' So, sure, it can happen that you end up getting good ghost photos when you feel this.

I've had it many times before, sometimes to the point of continuous all-over body chills; they come in waves. It feels strange until you get used to it, then once you're used to it, you begin to know when you've made a connection. In my case, I also get sensations when I know something beyond what I should. i.e. knowing when something is 'right' or 'true'; or upon hearing bad news, knowing that it will not have a good outcome, etc. It's tough to explain! Hi! Here I am, the favorite pig!
The feelings Kell you wrote about, knowing good/bad/ or right/wrong? I just get either a really bad or good feeling all over me. Curt said I am nuts sometimes, but I have run into people that I will get as far away as possible and others (and this happens 99%of the time) I just want to smile at =)
Some other sensations, like someones home I feel slight suffocation, not really pressure? As you said it is hard to explain the feelings. I think we are all probably unique in how we sense different things, just like in any other thing in life.
The weirdest one that I have been getting lately is at bingo of all places? Now, I can't make them call my number of course.......gee that would be fun! But going to bingo sometimes I am waiting for a number and I just get the feeling its going to be called and it is? Hubby said how about the lotto? I can't do that duh? But it kinda funny, I did it last week on O-62. I just dropped my dauber and there it was on the screen. I have never been able to see in the future, even if its 5 seconds? It is happening alot. And no I am not winning alot, no more than usual. I just know the number is coming?
OR........maybe I am just going to bingo too much! I haven't been this week cause I am a hurtin'. Gonna have to go to BA, Bingo Anonymous!

I get a strange sensation at the base of my head as well. Either the right or left. It's difficult to describe because I think it's different for everyone. But it's like when you know someone is looking at you. Or if you close your eyes and someone sneaks up to you, you can feel them even when you can't hear them. Almost as if there is a magnetic field around your head and something disturbed it. I think that many things can affect it. When I lived in a rental home a year ago, we had a ghost I called Rose. At night in bed I would usually sleep with my back to the wall. Well I could sense someone behind me and the back of my head would tingle like that.

Yeah!! I feel normal now! =) Thanks to all of you who helped me. I was begining to think I had a brain disorder of some sort! The tingle is getting stronger the more I go on investigations. I assume thats because I have the opportunity to use it more.If anyone has any other physical reactions to spirits,I would love to hear about it! Thanks again!!! Tanya

I don't think I've ever gotten that tingling feeling. Not that I can remember, but I wanted to comment on something that Peg said

"I have run into people that I will get as far away as possible and others (and this happens 99%of the time) I just want to smile at"

This happens to me all the time. I'm sure it's happened to all of us. I'm the type of person that if I like someone...I REALLY like them and would go out of my way to do anything for them, but....if I don't like someone, same thing, I REALLY don't like them and I don't want to associate with them in any way, shape or form. There's no imbetween for me. I always get very strong feelings from people, even people that I've never actually met (ie: people that I see at the gym all the time that I've never actually talked to) Just like Peg said, most of the time I get very good feelings and I just want to smile and say hi. But there are those that I just don't like and like Peg said, I want to be as far away from them as possible. I can't even explain why...I just get a very bad feeling about them...even if they appear to be nice on the outside. I always felt kind of weird about feeling that way because I would wonder what it was about them or just why in general I didn't like that person. That doesn't happen very often, but when it does....it's a VERY strong feeling. Almost always a strong feeling of distrust. But why would I distrust someone I don't even know? Has always made me wonder in the back of my mind...because I've always been like that.

I do have to say, that I'm usually right though. There have a been a few people that I've given the benefit of the doubt to when I've gotten that "bad" feeling, and they've always ended up double crossing me in some shape or form. It was just good to hear someone else say that they also get strong feelings like that. Not that I ever thought I was the only one...but sometimes I just felt like I was being caddy in a way....which is totally not me.

I know what you mean Trinity. I believe the Bible refers to that as discernment of spirit. Some people make me very uncomfortable also.My mom was particularly blessed with this ability. She could tell what kind of person someone was within a very few minutes.I must say,I'm not that blessed, but I sure wish I was!! Trin, that's your instinct (gut reation). It's a God-given gift. Go with it; trust it. You've seen in the past that it usually bears out to be true, so don't start to ignore or override it. [Wink]

I find that it's much like the gift of fear. When we feel frightened or uneasy about someone, there's usually a darned good reason. For instance, let's say a man who doesn't have good intentions gets on an elevator with a woman, who feels in her gut this is not good, but doesn't make any attempt to get away. Because her gut tells her so, she should act on it before the man does something, but many times - because she doesn't want it to be true that this man means her harm, she does nothing. She overrides the fear, whicn may not lead to a good outcome. =( It's akin to a rabbit in the woods who sees a wolf nearby.... that rabbit doesn't slough off his feelings of fear and keep grazing, he gets the h*ll outta there! Same thing. Instinct is a good thing and not to be ignored. [Wink]

Just my 2 cents. =)
