My wife and I toured Paris and the surrounding region May of this year.
During one of our tours to a castle in the Loire Vally, Chambord, we had
a strange experience and later realized why. Our last castle on a 12
hour tour was the Chateau de Chambord, a beautiful late medieval castle.
As we were prepairing to leave, after just hitting the gift shop, we
noticed a room on the first floor that we didn't recall going through.
There was nothing particularly exciting about the room, but what drew us
in was the site of a pool table sitting empty in the middle of a large
parlor room. This seemed odd an odd site that we hadn't seen in any
other tours, so we decided to take a peek. As we drew closer, we could
see that the room was practically empty of furnishings, baring the pool
table and some rather large portraits. We decided to get a closer look
at the paintings, so we went in.
As soon as we stepped into the room, I had an overwhelming sence of
coldness. A deep cold clammy dampness that went through me. I asked my
wife if she noticed it too and she agreed. We continued to look around
and I took a few pictures, then we left. As we left the room, I said to
my wife, "if any of the rooms in these castles is haunted, this one
is.". We chuckled it off and caught up with our tour group to return to
Paris.
After we returned to the states, I was putting together a scrap book of
our visit to France. As I was reviewing the pictures, I noticed a
strange glare in one of the photos from our trip to Chambord. It was
one of the photos I took in the billiard room. As I studied the picture
closer, I noticed that it looks like a figure sitting on the pool table
watching us as we were coming in the room. Then, I showed it to my wife
and we remembered the strange feeling we had in that room.
I have just started to do some research on the history of Chambord,
particularly to see if anyone has had simlar experiences. If you can
point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. If not,
at least I got to tell my story and maybe someone who has information
can contact me.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Larry
