Oh Boy! Pirates of the Caribbean...what a fun movie. As a dyed in the wool Disneyac that movie was just over the top. Johnny Depp is so awesome as a drunken Cap'n Jack and Orlando Bloom, well, just more eye candy...And then there is Geoffrey Rush who is just downright entertaining as Barbosa. If you have rode the Pirates at Disneyland, and love it like we do, then this movie is a great ride. If you have never been, it is still a great movie! (I wouldn't take really young children, it might scare 'em a bit.)

Kathleen, I just saw it today and loved it! You are right, it wouldn't be for the younger kiddie set. I would predict some bad, zombie nightmares in the future of little ones, say, under 10, who watch this one.
Ya know, ol' Johnny Depp, even garbed up as a nasty, drunken pirate, still makes me drool! You just can't make that man ugly, even though they did a pretty darn good job.
No one else could have played that character with that much panache! There is a lot of subtle humor that adults will find entertaining. I highly recommend this one -- it is worth seeing in a theater vs. renting.

Is that the one with johnnie depp??If it is I saw some previews of it when I went to see a movie a few weeks back.If That one chic in it says"i dont belive in ghost". And the one pirate takes a step and says"You better start believen"!(and changes into one).If yall like Jim carrey, BrUcE aLmIgHtY, will crack you up..I had tears runnen down my cheeks!!I came home and watched Dumb & Dumber again.That mans facial expressions are just to much....

We saw "Pirates" this past Sat. Amazing movie!!!! I can't agree with you more about Johnny Depp, even with all that make-up on...he's still a cutey patootey! I have to say, I saw some pretty young kids in the theatre while we were there and they seemed completely enthralled. I couldn't believe how quiet they were being. (Although could have just been an isolated case )

It's definitely a movie that you want to see in the theatres!

I saw it soon after it came out. Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors (I'll leave the droolin up to you girls =) ).
I thought is was a pretty darn good movie. Superb special effects. The scenes with the Black Pearl in the harbor blasting the town was awesome.
The ending was a big let down for me. Far too PC for a pirate movie. It didn't have to be rude but is should have ended on an adventurous note. Kind of anticlimatical. But still a movie that's going to get into my DVD collection without a doubt.

Wow, this sounds like a great movie! Guess I am going to have to see this one! =)
